Yep! Hickman with the OGs (+Chamber n Mondo) and Brisson with the NextGen gang.

Hickman's New Mutants are so good.
I don't want him to leave after the first arc.
And Rod Reis is the new Sienkiewicz.

Great issue. The chemistry of the cast is amazingly written, and the art is beautiful. Loved the vibe between Sam and Berto, and the card game scene. Trying to stay positive about the switch up next issue, but man, that is going to be a rough adjustment.

    Whoa. Sienkiewicz is God.

But Reis is a great disciple.

Cool! And at least I got that part right, lol. Hopefully, the lack of the OGs doesn't cause a loss in momentum, cuz THIS book... has got it goin on!

    Hard agree.

This was a really fun issue, particularly elevated by the art. Hickman obviously loves writing these characters, which really comes through. Reis, though, is selling the **** out of it. This book has the weakest premise of the relaunch and is a pure nostalgia grab, but I ain’t even mad about it. Hickman and Reis are that good.

You LIKE the twins??? I’m not opposed to them like I am with Globby Globs but I think Extermiantion having them beat all the X-Men didn’t sit right with me. Larraz’s art was really cute tho

The twins are the worst. Glob too. I’m not excited about Brisson, but I like when creators change my mind.

Omg, this book is so funny. It’s totally my favorite of the bunch. It’s like this completely random and separate thing, I love it.

Reminder that #3 is Brisson. Reserve a therapist if you need one.

This. Hopefully Brisson can make some good stuff out of this new era. Don’t know how much you can do with that when your cast is.....Glob, Maxime, and Manon BUT maybe he can surprise us. NextGen was serviceable and maybe with the way Krakoa works, there can be a lot of cameos to distract me.
