As usual, this crowd makes it a challenge to decide; but I'm going with Rob Allen for the fun factor.
Honorable mentions go out to Shalla Bal and Seismic-2.

I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:
Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.
Nschornhorst for Popeye, because I was going for one at first.

Way to go, seismic-2! Thanks to Shalla Bal and Rob Allen for voting for my cover, too (not to mention Nschornhorst's honorable mention - it was also the first cover I thought of ).

Congrats to seismic-2!
I've just PM'd him!

Thanks, WPP! I'm glad so many people appreciated that cover this week. Joe Kubert showed that a giant of the art form can say the most by showing the least. A subdued coloring of a simple striped background - symbolizing the prison costume - and just an arm tattooed with a number. We don't see the actual man. A powerful statement about how the victims of the Holocaust were rendered faceless, becoming mere numbers.
Thanks too for the posts clarifying that graphic novel covers are admissible in the contest. Special thanks to Shalla Bal for the detailed information about the confusion regarding the Bernie Wrightson "Frankenstein" prose novel and graphic novel. I regard that post as definitive, should the subject arise again. I'll post a new contest this morning before I leave for appointments.
Congratulations, seismic-2!
«Speaking generally, it is because of the desire of the tragic poets for the marvellous that so varied and inconsistent an account of Medea has been given out» (Diodorus Siculus, The Library of History [4.56.1])
Congrats seismic for on that thoughtful cover.
And thanks for the 3 votes my Bolland cover received.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
