I quite like the retro-colored one, but the cheapest price the retro-colored cover can be had for is $54.99, paired with the more modern-colored one. I'm not mad - I know a body's gotta eat - but I'll just go with what my LCS gives me.

I'm curious, actually, that DC allows any artist this sort of exclusivity over selling DC comics. I mean, yes, it's a variant, but it's still their character and their comic. I'm guessing they get a cut?

It's the same as any retailer exclusive cover (the retailer in this case being his online store), he has to commit to ordering a large number of copies.
