Very true. DC's Shadow Lass also comes to mind.

One of the more interesting twists on this concept was Moondragon. The fact that she was bald instead of a woman with a full head of hair made it easier for her to be rendered in the skimpiest outfits without hardly anyone being offended or seeing it as pervy objectification. In some of Heather's early appearances she was depicted wearing little more than dental floss, gloves, boots and a cape. But I don't recall there ever being any outrage over that.

At least with Tigra it makes a certain amount of sense since her fur and striping are what convey "tiger" - just as the Beast ran around in just a pair of undies for decades and Iron Fist was bare-chested to show off his tattoo.

Man, I hated that costume at the time. IN hindsight though... I think I just hated the artist. Daredevil and Armor never go well together, but he drew that costume terribly. I saw a crossover with in a Spider-man comic and it actually looked pretty good. In fact that picture there doesn't look that bad either... but that Fall from Grace artist... ughh… just gave me a bad taste in my mouth.

I thought the 90s Daredevil suit wasn't that bad, and was the Spider-Man comic you were referring to ASM 396 by Mark Bagley, in the beginnings of The Clone Saga, by any chance?

yep! That's the one. Always been a fan of Bagley's art... Really liked the Daredevil Armor there, but in Fall from Grace and the 'Jack Batlin' Issues of Daredevil... Ughhh I hated that suit with a passion.

The deliberately awful costume written for Sprite from Uncanny X-Men #149 (September, 1981).

Agree, I liked this look for Stephen. Mature, stylish and it didn't make him seem like some costumed stage magician or charlatan.

I'd be curious to see how they colored that.

Hopefully the three “diamond” shapes in the chest area yellow with the rest red and not all skin.
