Hockman has a history of ignoring AXIS. So that's probably filler & won't factor into anything going forward. When Hickman wrote inverted Stark, I hear he wrote him as a trouble guy who fell on very hard times. Not someone magically mind-whammied. SO best to ignore anything that happened in that era.
