She's also been confirmed to do the main song. Wonder if it'll actually have the title in the lyrics, like Skyfall and most of the old films, or just be something different (although still with the basic theme of the movie) like Craig's other songs.

Song is set to debut tomorrow evening. It's called "No Time to Time", the only other Craig song apart from Skyfall to share the movie's title.

That would be "No Time To Die", Chrislll. Until I reached the end of your sentence I didn't realise it was a typo, so I was wondering just what the hell Billie was smoking to give the song a stupid name so similar to the title, yet so nonsensical.

Anyway, I've listened to some of her tracks and her voice isn't bad. I don't expect anything great, but hopefully something not boring, jarring, or flat-out bad. I would have preferred Florence and the Machine, or Nine Inch Nails, but we rarely get something from our wish-list. The theme/titles for a particular Bond film always helps set my mood for the movie, so I do hope it's good. Skyfall had what I considered a decent song coupled with interesting titles, and Casino Royale is my favourite title sequence out of all the Bond films, and Cornell's You No My Name one of my favourite Bond themes.

Oops! It will also be interesting to see if Zimmer's score uses the main theme. Most Bond movies use an instrumental version of the main tune, although there are some exceptions; although it does use the title tune in a few scenes (Most notably during the Hercules plane scene), The Living Daylights used the two pretenders songs more for a good chunk of the soundtrack ("Where has anybody gone" mostly used during scenes with Necros, "If I had a man" for the stuff with Kara).

David Arnold didn't really bother to use Tomorrow Never Dies, Die Another Day or Another Way To Die music in their films either. Most of TND's music comes from an alternate title song played over the end credits, "Surrender"; funny thing about "Quantum" it actually uses "You Know my Name" in one scene, when Bond talks to Mathis.

I would have preferred something faster, but it's nice. I won't really know how well it works until I see it at the cinema paired with the credit sequence visuals.

I was re-watching QoS the other day and it surprised me for all of M's tongue lashing, of him being anxious to kill. He's actually a very restrained man.

Craig's Bond is just a moral man who hates bullies and those who prey on the weak. Of all the Bonds I actually like him the best, because I find him more heroic and personable and I like his kindness and his sense of justice. And this is coming from someone who thought that it was a disaster when he got cast. Another thing about Craig's Bond since he seems to have more or less a better regard for people, he does not treat women as objects.
If he meets a woman he likes, and the feeling is mutual something might happen. But he's not going to make it happen to shore up his numbers. And for all of M's tongue lashing to him that he seems anxious to kill. I actually find him restrained. I like the scene in Spectre where the two security guards at the chalet are going to jump him. And he holds his hands up to them and says 'stay'. There's a big difference between someone who is bloodthirsty and someone who will do whatever it takes to get a job done.

I wouldn't call Connery's Bond a ladies man. A a ladies man is a man who loves and finds pleasure in women. Connery came across as the type of man who sleeps with women so he could collect notches on his headboard and then brag to his buddies on an internet forum. He doesn't like women, they are just tools to shore up his masculinity/self esteem. His brand of Bond wouldn't fly today. I even saw an interview with Honor Blackman (AKA Pussy Galore) where she implied it was ridiculous how every woman Bond comes across just can't wait to lie on her back for him.

It's why Fiona Volpe from Thunderbolt was so cool, well one of the reasons. Yeah she sleeps with him, but then takes the p*** out of him for thinking that she's suddenly going to switch sides afterwards.

It's also why his interactions with Severine in Skyfall, and Monica Bellucci in Spectre are very, awkward.

I always found Lazenby's stuff on Piz Gloria to be a bit awkward, considering how he was pretty much courting Tracy at the time and it helped blow his cover. Although at least with Rudy he got some valuable information.

I think in the novel doesn't have any of that (and Tracy is less heroic-she doesn't have the big action scenes they gave Rigg in the film, although she isn't captured either). Bond's identity is actually blown by Campbell, the other British agent who is Bond's backup in the film.

You're ignoring the instances of him forcing himself on Severine in Skyfall and Monica Belluci's character in Spectre. Daniel Craig has even referred to him as a misogynist. His shooting the bomb maker in the first movie was also not restrained.

^Kind of part of his character development in that movie, becoming less of a "blunt instrument". M certainly wasn't too pleased at the approach he took either.

Bond was always meant to be, not a great guy in many respects. Ian Fleming even specified that he was NOT really a hero. So that's fine to a degree, but they push it a bit too far sometimes.

Connery's Bond literally forcing himself on a woman in Goldfinger, or blackmailing another one into sex in Thunderball, or Moore's Bond smacking an already abused woman aroind in The Man With The Golden Gun, wtf are all examples of this.

MWTGG is kind of weird (M-even for him!, Moneypenny, and Q also seem pretty short-tempered in the film). They pretty much softened Moore's portrayal a bit after that. In FYEO and AVTAK in particular he comes across as almost a sort of caring father figure.

The Dalton films sort of toned down the character's sexual nature too, but this was more of a reaction to the AID's crisis from what I've read.

It's a shame Dalton didn't have more films.

I think the delay was more a factor in him letting go of the role than his films being that unpopular (Heck, LTK although not having much box office did spawn a hit song, "If you asked me to"). Parts of Goldeneye almost seem like they were written for Dalton instead of Brosnan.

I cannot wait for this film... I just rewatched Casino Royale over the weekend. I really hope this one lives up to that. Eva Green was amazing, the whole thing was great.
