maybe we'll get some answers to this in time, but farting around having old lady fights and having extremely terrible security is not where it's at.

Also, Moira must be losing her s-word with how things are going since HOX/POX
We know Krakoa provide free food and Shelter to everyone, drugs for healthcare, instant transportation through a network of gate and a biological form of Airborne warning system.
It's more than anyone could dream of, those are solid infrastructures and resources to kickstart a society.
    Beyond that?
Security is the responsibility of the Kraked but they can't handle it properly it seems.
Education is also a responsibility they have but it seems no program is in place for neither children or teenagers on the island, they probably still have to go to Westchester for that.
Manual labor doesn't seem to exist either, beyond basic infrastructure management (harvesting the fields of flowers, the logistic toward their processing by specialized manufacturers off the island, monitoring the network of transportation) and direct service to the Council (like the Great Captains do, or specialists like Domino and Colossus).
R&D is a modest affair in scope for now, with Forge and Sinister being the sole individuals dedicated to their respective fields in that aspect. Possibly Beast too, mind.

All in all, It's possible most of the population have part-time duties to harvest the flowers in various fields, with free reign to do as they please on their free time.
Hence the popular day-to-day practice of partying and having random beach gathering on that island..
The few that are not playing farmers are serving directly or indirectly the Council.

I think that Fubar and I want character development and character relationships being developed instead of vague hints about a polyamori that doesn't suit these characters.

    ignore isn't a option

The p-word thing only confirmed that prude old ladies do not like beautiful women and feel a need to shame them for their appearance. Just as much as Emma's comment didn't prove Jean has big feet.

LMFAO! I still can’t. You know it was pungent AF if she could smell it while standing in a field of flowers.
Those old ladies burned the White Queef worse than Destiny did to Moira.

Shaw being confirmed as bi brings up some questions. Is this why he actually agreed to join the X-Men on Krakoa? Is this big bear just looking for some X-themed twink for some colonial role play? Should someone hide Bobby before he gets gobbled up?

Damn dude you sure gotta lotta thoughts on how other people should live/act. I'm having a hard time imagining exactly how you'd like the X-Men to be.... what was your favorite era?

THAT is the reality of the Kraked situation right now.
I meeeean that's our reality. What can humility do against a world leader with a Nuke and itchy trigger finger? The Mutants being by themselves and offering humanity life bettering drugs still gets humans hatin on them? #smdh

uhhh world leaders are often ineffectual, con men, who got their position through nepotism...bribes etc. The X-Men have Mutant powers and are trained for combat.

So, I'm going to say it, I dont know if Hickman know how to write the X-men proper, he does great with select characters and excels with his favorites. But three issues in and the writing in this series is stilted and dry, I see what he's going for but he misses the mark. Someone brought up his Avengers run and I'm beginning to think that worked so well because he could casually assign characters to a role. But X-men are all these incredibly diverse and unique personalities that they feel like such a departure from anything that's come before.

Loved the ideas he's bringing to the table, but maybe he's better as a plotter rather than the actual writer for this series. Outside of the Jean/Emma exchange everything else felt disjointed, I finished the issue thinking, really that's it?

I thought this issue maybe clarified a bit how exactly Krakoa, Selene, and Emplate were feeding off mutants, instead of their usual MO's (lifeforce absorption, bone marrow). Instead they're absorbing the ambient psychic energy that naturally exist on Krakoa based on the mutant population. Selene and Emplate are in charge of these protocols so Krakoa doesn't over indulge and they have similar protocols. Or that's how I read it!

Fans have gotten too used to having a "flagship" book in which everything that happens has to be a big deal but I appreciate that Adjectiveless has been letting the other series shine. I guess word of mouth isnt so good and sales probably wont be stellar but Im ok with saceificing that for good storytelling. Excited to see how all the threads (Orchis Children of the Vault, Arrako, Hordeculture) connect. This feels like Claremont era.

This sentiment is thrown around way too causally, in regards to Hickman's world building maybe but Claremont is a much better writer at developing characters and Hickman leaves A LOT left to be desired in their personal drives and motivations.

I miss Carey, he could blatantly go overboard with his favorites but I really enjoyed hiw he would find something about every character he touched to elaborate or develop.

Yes, it was a cool issue. I love that Hickman is introducing new, unexpected threats for this new era.

Thankyou!! I feel like this can't be stressed enough! Claremont had a much better balance of longer, over-arching plots alongside characterisation; both worked hand-in-hand!

This issue was bad on so many levels.
Judging from all the praise in these forums, I guess ageism is now the acceptable prejudice.
Other than that, why are Krakoa's flowers being grown in the Savage Land?
Wouldn't that make them Savage Land flowers?

I’d love to hear how showing brilliant, capable older women with their own points of view is ageism. I was thrilled to see some characters who weren’t eternally 20-something with perfect bodies. I see some solid representation, so I’d truly like to hear your concerns.

And his dialogue is some of the worst in the business. Nobody’s perfect.
