Checked out the first 2 episodes, not bad so far, the actors for Courtney and Pat are great! Only thing I could have done without was that opening scene. Having Stripsey awkwardly saying everyone’s name as soon as he saw them was kinda clunky. That and you could tell the source material was not written this decade, given some of the more outdated high school cliches. But for what it is, very promising start.

I kinda liked it because I like that they acknowledge the characters' codenames instead of going all MCU "Nobody uses anyone's Superhero name" .

Besides, that seems like it's going to be Rick's motivation.
Also, she's going to have to let the idea of her father as some kind of "missing saint" before she fully accepts Pat.

Definitely hope they keep that aspect of Brainwave Jr.'s history.

Hey! No spoilers, some of us did not read the comic.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

For some reason I'm envisioning Courtney eventually having a Fresh Prince moment. Anyone who has seen the episode will know what I'm talking about.
    Dark does not mean deep.

That’s actually what happened in the comic.

Me neither -- I've been debating about whether or not I should research some of these characters that I'm not familiar with and their deep histories/connections. But it's rare to see a comic book movie/tv show where I don't have expectations based on comic book knowledge, so now I think I am going to remain ignorant and let the show unfold for me the way the tv creatives intend.

That is certainly a good strategy. However, the series this is based on is a lot of fun! I would definitely recommend checking it out at some point.
    AKA FlashFreak
    Favorite Characters:
DC: The Flash (Jay & Wally), Starman- Jack Knight, Stargirl, & Shazam!.
MARVEL: Daredevil, Spider-Man (Peter Parker), & Doctor Strange.

The Brainwave Jr stuff is from Infinity Inc not Stars and STRIPE.

See, I'm in conflict over this. I'm enjoying it so far as I know the bare bones of what's what and who's who, while enjoying the ride as it comes without knowing much about the actual storyline from the comic. And yet, from everything I've seen about the comic, I get the feeling I would really like it too.

    So, I'm at an impasse.

Oh, I know - I meant JSA, All-Star Squadron, Infinity Inc, etc stuff as well as Stargirl. I only have a passing knowledge of that stuff - especially personal lives or villains backstories.

Very true. I only read one issue of Stars & Stripes -- I think the 0 issue. But I read all of Infinity, Inc. It appears that 'Stargirl' will use both for potential storylines, but that doesn't mean things will work out exactly as they did in the comics. It will be nice, however, to see a DC show that is closer to the source material than most other DC shows.

While I expect some drama (she is in high school and stuck at the "unpopular kids" table), this show doesn't feel as "heavy" as the other CW DC series thus far. Like there is drama and stakes, but it also has light-hearted tone overall. Even Starman's death in episode 1 had some comedy to it.
