The listed population of 7,800 was thatbofnthe town and the dozen villages that were between 20 to 40 minutes drive from the two.

The town itself was smaller than Blue Valley appears to be in the show. As a kid the town had a main street that had 20 to 30 shops down each side on one side of the street on one side of the bridge. On the other side a smaller street with 6 or so mechanics, exhaust specialists, smash repairers and a second hand car yard. There was two primary schools and two high schools. Within 40 mins drive you had the villages of Dungey, Uki, Talgyuam, stockers siding, Burringbah, Tumbulgam, Bray Park, Nimbin, crystal Creek, Dunbible, Kielvale, Condong, Eungella, Tyalgah, and a few others. Each of these villages had a population of between 300 and 600 and were part of the 7,800 listed on the population signs of the area. Each village had a general store, a public house (place to buy and drink alcohol) and maybe one or two other businesses, or a sports club. The actual town itself wouldn't have had morenthe 2000 in the town. I lived almost at one and of town (there were 4 streets past my home) and at the age of 10 rode my bike to school in about 5 mins which was only at the top end of main street and only 3 streets past the bottom end. In year 7 (age 11) I rode home and back again in a 15 minute recess for homework I'd forgotten.

Say, you don't happen to know what explanation was given for the change from "Say You" to "So Cool" in the JLA run, eh? Did Grant Morrison ever explain that? Maybe to their Glaswegian ear "So Cool" does sound like "Cei U" but to me it's totally off.

I agree. But is that a hill we need to die on? I mean there is so much that
happens to DC fans, it is in the meh category and you move on to the next
    monstrosity.

I liked the second season better than you did. But I agree that their Johnny
Thunder and heirs was off. Using Thunder's powers at the end was pretty bad.
Geoff Johns, man, you just have to shake your head.

In story, it was because it was the name of the other Thunderbolt backwards.

Okay, so in the Morrison JLA story, thunderbolt genies are 5th dimensional beings like Mr. Mxyzptlk. To summon them or send them away, the user has to say their name backwards. Johnny's original pink thunderbolt was named Yz, which would supposedly sound like "Cei-U" or "Say you" when arranged backwards and with vowels added to the mix. But in the story, there was an evil blue thunderbolt named Lkz (pronounced backwards sounds like "So Cool"). In order to stop Lkz, the JLA and JSA caused the two thunderbolts to combine into one purple thunderbolt. This thunderbolt inherited the Lkz name and magic word "So Cool".

Outside of the story, it's probably for the sake of a gag. One of the early gags in the Johnny Thunder strips was that he'd accidentally summon the thunderbolt when angry at someone by shouting "Say, You!" and then saying something he wished the offending person would do. Like "Say, you! I wished you'd go jump in a lake!" And then Thunderbolt would make them go jump in a lake. Since Jakeem is a kid and doesn't have those old timey speech patterns, they probably changed it to "So Cool" to make it more a gag based around awe and excitement. Like "That is so cool! I wish I had a bike like that!" Then Thunderbolt would "borrow" the bike from somewhere he shouldn't.

    Say you, thanks for that.

I did find the explanation on comicteams.com. They say that the combined Thunderbolt is supposed to be Ylkz now. But saying that backward seems like it should be something besides just "So cool!" (So cool, ya!?).

I read all of this back in the day, but could not remember any of it. I can't imagine them trying explain that entire back story on STARGIRL. I guess some people prefer "so cool" but I like "say you" better as a gag.

I guess Thunderbolts don't care if consonants are voiced or unvoiced and, when you whisper, everything is unvoiced--if Billy whispers "Shazam," it's actually more like "Shasã."

Tim Gabriel is cast as Obsidian

DC's Stargirl fans have already heard Todd's name mentioned throughout season 2, as Jennie was on a mission to find her long-lost brother. But season 3 will be the first time he appears onscreen. Just like in the comics, Todd is LGBTQ and wields "strange and uncontrollable shadow abilities." He's been living on the streets and searching for his sister, but he falls into the hands of The Helix Institute for Youth Rehabilitation and the mysterious Mr. Bones (Keith David) — who showed up in the final moments of the season 2 finale teasing their impending arrival in Blue Valley — who are determined to understand Todd's powers.

Sounds promising! And Obsidian's due for more attention as part of a generation of heroes DC tends to ignore.

Still, I'm mostly hoping this leads to some kind of Green Lantern appearance. (hopefully in costume, and using his powers) Honestly, I don't even remember - was he in his kids lives at all?

I hope they address the exact status of Alan in relation to the kids.

Another instance of LoT wasting stuff from the comics.
