Default Off Panel interview with Gerry Duggan

    Another audio interview:

Off Panel #233: Marauders’ Map with Gerry Duggan

Haven't listened yet but here's the description:

In this week’s episode of Off Panel, writer Gerry Duggan joins the show for a deep dive discussion about Marauders. Duggan shares his X-Men origin story, what makes Kate Pryde so great, how Marauders came together, the X-Men writers room, the energy of the book, its playbook, how the X-Titles got their casts, his thoughts on the whole cast, political vs. character decisions, balancing fandom with story needs, planning long-term for a title and the line, whether we’re at Peak Fanboy Gerry Duggan, and more.

Interesting they been planning this since fall of 2018. I think it's the first idea we got an almost definitive timeline on the retreat.

Also liked that duggan mentioned wakanda. Also interesting that he says he wasn't sure if he could use storm and Franklin, because of code and he didn't know if she'd be in space in 18 months or wakanda. But I don't understand why characters like storm have that caution but Logan can be everywhere.

Still listening I like what he said about the elementals. With storm he has earth and air, fire with pyro, water with iceman

Bishop is the character he was least sure of but chose him because he felt he could be something good. Which we start to see in issue 4

Yeah, that's odd. Being in space didn't prevent T'Challa and Strange from being in Avengers.

Odd and annoying. I wish I knew the policy on it behind scenes so I can formulate a opinion rather than suspicion

I have to disagree with duggan calling Emma a feminist. I mean I could see the potential but she is far from one as of right now. Some man always ends up controlling her whether she wants it or not. So I hope we get to see what he was talking about. He also says Emma wants to impress Kate which I can definitely see.

I could be wrong but duggan doesn't seem to be the biggest fan of lolli. He avoided a space where he could have given him some props like he did Stefano a few seconds before and sounded excited he was coming on for issues. Not one "yeah Loli is doing good work " proably just an oversight but coming off praising another artist it's kind of glaring

    A truly solid interview.
I really do appreciate the insight into the levels of collaboration between and among the creatives involved.
Now he's got me really excited for X-Men 04.

Yeah just finished it was a great interview. Duggan could read audio books. Calming voice. Lol

He also mentioned a storm fan he tweeted back.
