I do like that the generation I read is actually called the New X-Men though.

Wish should make a thread of what students we think are in the Jean Grey School, Frost Academy, and New X-Men.

Didn't want to do this but after this issue I'm only gonna follow the space issues. After the awesome last issue this was a big time letdown.

The telepaths (one's an empath technically) are tactile only - no physical contact means no effect.
And I don't remember Armor interacting with either of them ever.

I'm starting to see this more and more.

I think the only ways humans are a physical threat to mutants is through: genetics, technology, and superior numbers.
We've definitely seen the tech angle a few times now in DOX, which makes sense, given that HOX/POX set up the whole evolution-thru-tech angle.

The sudden appearance of these anti-mutant technologies do seem a bit hand-wavy.
Not their existence. After all, it can't all be about Sentinels. It makes sense that humanity is "stepping-up" their tech.
But rather, its sudden reveal as a plot device to place our heroes in credible danger.

What is it about these technologies (Hordeculture's gas, now power-dampening missiles) and their appearances in the books that is off-putting - their existence or their presentation?

Wait so Mothervine works??? Why arent we using that to repower mutants who lost their powers during D-Day?

    Was Mothervine destroyed?

    I think its the presentation.

But also how its so easily accessible for all humans.

From Nebraska red-necks to uppity scientist.

But if you really think about it.

It's kind of like that in the real world.

Everyone has access to weapons. Depends on who is funding what.

Mothervine was destroyed and Mothervine's only source was Jimmy Hudson.

All of Jimmy Hudson's biological matter was destroyed by the Poison.

So, there is no more Mothervine.

it had collateral effects and Miss Sinister was going to use it to control the mutants infected with it. So it was destroyed and there isn't a way of doing more

It looks like it worked fine on Beak. It probably repowered more mutants but gave issues to humans and mutants that already had powers.

Elixir destroyed it. It had too many negative effects on Mutants with powers.

    Thanks for the replies.

I wish Wind Dancer was around when it got released.

She could still reappear and blame her returned powers on Mothervine. Like the old "t'was Necrosha" explanation for resurrected mutants prior to Krakoa.

This was cute but starting this at the third issue felt so out of place. Really think this should’ve happened in the X-Men book or something since that has a rotating cast anyway.

I love Angel and Beak but yeah, one of the Cuckoos should have spearheaded this in Armor’s place or something to give the reunion more depth.

Irma Cuckoo, Prodigy, Mercury, and Shark Girl would’ve maybe made more sense as a welcoming committee to cover the various generations.

Not a big fan of this issue either, a real swing to the downward from the last two FUN issues. I do like the data pages about the setup of the "young" mutants, but I'm bored with these super juiced humans showing up and mysteriously turning off powers. But I guess we need something to keep the danger in the books.
