One of the best uses of the data pages was in last weeks New Mutants.
It got fans talking, gave us a little bit of insight into the sleeping arrangements on Krakoa but didn't disturb the story.
I think they are a good thing, extra info for the story.
I don’t like them, use the page for art. Show me don’t tell me.

Like in the #3s, there was one in X-Men that went into the civilian identities of Hordeculture and that may have taken up too much space as art and speech bubbles.
The 2 data pages in X-Force were just extra setup for the Reaver getting killed and the resurrection of Xavier and him meeting X-Force later.
The data pages in Marauders are actually a combo of "useless and useful" in regards to this thread. By that I mean the "useless" parts don't help the issue they show up in but they set up a future issue which make them "useful".
