The Post-C2E2 coverage seems to be adamant about Teddy being the villain, with Newsarama going as far as saying he and Wiccan are broken up. I know Ewing and Oliveira love the characters, but part of me wonders how much stock to put in this drastic 180. Valerio Schiti is also drawing someone getting a beatdown for #5.

I don't know much about Hulking, but it's kinda obvious he's being setup as the villain/main protagonist. Thor does seem to have a large beef with him for a reason.

To be fair, I would say Marvel itself is selling Teddy as an antagonist, but they’re not necessarily saying he’s the villain. The three articles you posted calling him villain and saying him and Billy are broken up are not even Marvel’s words, but an assumption from people, based on what we’ve seen and known about the event so far. Valerio’s tweet is vague, so we can’t possibly know who he’s talking about there. There’s still a chunk of context missing; we’ve seen panels which show Teddy helping the Fantastic Four. We’ve seen the heroes fighting against the plant people, who are very likely the Cotati. I think once the story actually comes out and we understand what’s going on, the notion of Teddy being the villain will be dissipated. In the meantime, Marvel will probably paint him in an antagonistic light and let people believe he might be the villain because it keeps people wondering and interested in the event.

Am I the only one down for Stone Cold Brutal Emperor Teddy! And Fallen God Evil Demiurge Billy taking over the world and the entirety of space, their great heroes but they'd be iconic villains!!

Teddy being the antagonist could lead to greatness!!! He would never fall into obscurity again!!!

Yeah I kinda agree, it's about time that we see Hulkling do something worthwhile.

Yes. Most of us would rather not see some of our favorite characters ruined.

Dorrek VIII is the best thing to happen to Ted since the original YA book (and his reign could last a long time which could be interesting and force some creativity) while Cthulu is like, racist, dawg.

Anyone who is against the Earth is pretty much always the villain, even when Earth is sticking it's nose in, or is the cause of problems.

We happen to live on Earth, so of course we'd be rooting for "the home team," as it were.

I hope Teddy is the villian, I'm hoping the Shi'ar get involved in the next war.
I am a Marvel fan preferably cosmic storylines, especially Thanos or Dark Phoenix related, when both the Avengers and the X-Men are involved count me in, loved the original Uncanny Avengers series.
Not a fan of any of the new characters.
