Of course they're using the New 52 version of Alan Scott. Is it that hard to get Jade and Obsidian in on this so we can have some Scott family drama? Is it?
You are allowed to be wrong. There’s a reason why Kyle only ever worked for a cup of coffee in the 90’s when he was new and shiny and John could only be popular when he got to stand next to Batman and Superman on a cartoon for a few years and all the truly iconic stuff in the franchise is connected to Hal
I think Kyle's sales were declining at that point anyway, and he didn't actually get the boot he just was no longer the lead. Plus nobody can say it didn't work out since the GL line was DC's hottest book while Johns was on it, with Hal as the lead. So unless we're being salty, there is no evidence that any perceived "Silver Age fetish" didn't go over well.
But we could all collectively stand to take less digs at Hal, John or Kyle right now. On the bright side, this would give attention to less prominent GLs and would avoid the more prominent flame wars between the three mains. But the creative team doesn't inspire confidence.
Disappointed Hal won't be in it but nice to Jess getting some attention. Always have GL:TAS at least.
That this involves people from the 2011 movie however doesn't fill me with much hope for it.
Whatever happened to the John Diggle GL series that was VERY HEAVILY hinted at the end of Arrow tv series?
Hal Jordan/HJ and John Stewart/JS should be the leading duo in live action and animation....the others should be support characters until it's warranted or earned a spin off show.
Wtf what the epic *#$@?
Why is DC and WB going overboard above and beyond to get rid of John Stewart/JS?
First they tried to kill off JS in new52?....fans rebelled.
And Geoff John's himself completely ridiculed JS when he was writing the Green lantern comics.
Rumor has it that it was his idea and push to get rid of JS so that he can replace him with his creations Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz (Teeeerrible and culturally insensitive name for an Arab character).
Then DC refused and blocked the writer of GL: Lost Army to complete the limited series because it primarily focused on JS.
DC did this earlier in the 90s with GL:Mosaic.....also blocked and refused the writer to complete that story.
Thank goodness late Dwayne McDuffie was involved in the legendary JL toons of 2,000's otherwise we would have never gotten JS in animation and written so brilliantly.
However since then DC and WB have refused to let this character grow beyond comics.
Cruz and Baz had no biz being GLs....they should have been members of any of the other corps.
Guy fits perfectly as a RL...IMO. He worked and looked superb in the new 52 RL comics and should have stayed there. Guy's perpetually angered characteristic makes being an RL a perfect match for him.
Kyle should remain a WL if not then let it be Hal
Which leaves John and either Hal or Kyle as GLs...add Jade, Karma Tui, kilowogg and Alan Scott as the lead support cast for the GLs.
But instead...look at this nonsense HBOmax has approved.
Double post.... sorry my bad!

Bruce Wayne was very much part of the Gotham series.
Batwoman is about batwoman.
The batfamily have had VEEEERY MANY adaptations the esp Batman.....frankly Batman has even become a trope at this point.
None of the above compared to the idiocy of what HBOmax is doing with the GL show.
I read that geoff johns is half arab by the way.Rumor has it that it was his idea and push to get rid of JS so that he can replace him with his creations Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz (Teeeerrible and culturally insensitive name for an Arab character).
When Johns was writing GL it was pretty much one blockbuster event after another. A lot of things huge events happened around Hal but he wasn't at the center of any of them. The villains push those plots forward moreso than he did. Sinestro got more development during Johns run than the books lead. I can arguably say the same for Atrocitus.
