I'll be happy to see a John show as long as it's about John, and the writers don't just strip-mine Hal's life and experiences and give them to John. I also hope they keep Guy, Alan, Sinestro, etc in some form. (especially Alan)

A part of me is not surprised they're re-focusing on John Stewart because they seem to be really emphasizing him as the de-fato lead GL, yet at the same time it kind of sucks that they're dropping that generational story and Guy and Alan as a result.

Also I guess they're keeping Sinestro...which means John gets Hal's villain. Again .

Guggenheim being gone is probably good news but slashing the budget? For this kind of production?

So I guess they felt that gay was too controversial and so are going for black and straight as a diversity compromise?

With slashing the budget, I wonder if the show will be more a cerebral/science fiction drama than superhero adventure.(which would fit John more than Hal or Guy) Kinda like how "Watchmen" had superheroes, but it was a lot more than that and it wasn't super FX or action heavy. That might seem like a more prestige HBO direction...?

I wonder if this will fall under Gunn’s purview.

And yes, I see that the change has nothing to do with Gunn. But will it still fall under his producing?

Makes me wonder what obscure, odd-ball favorite Lantern of his he'd would want to throw into the mix. Driq? The pumpkin guy?
