Nah, at the end of the episode, she was shifty-eyed when Marge claimed "it was an accident", which implied that the shooting was deliberate.

See, both Maggie knocking out Homer and the Peter Griffen fight feel like gags to me, where stuff like taking cannon balls to the gut and letting boxers wear themselves out on him feel like actual plot points. As such I tend to take those as a more representative showing than the extreme stuff at either end.

Then again, Maggie once shot up a bunch of gangsters with a rifle.

As I recall that was a hint at her greater sentience. So, that could suggest that Maggie hurting him should be expected.
