For the one I would have posted if Rob Allen wasn't a bit quicker.

There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

    Nice job, nx01a!

My vote goes to The Darknight Detective. I'll admit there's a personal reason for liking that cover because I had a crush on Wendy back when Super Friends first aired.

I thought she was pretty cute, too. I never understood what she saw in Marvin, though. Thanks for the vote!

Merry Christmas to one and all!

    Congratulations nx01a!

Considering the holiday, I suggest we give the winner 24-36 hours to post the next contest. It's very possible he may be incommunicado for an extended period.

Congratulations to nx01a for a decidedly classic but definitely Christmasy cover. I came very close to voting for this myself, but there was no beer. Aspects of this cover that I loved were Wildcat's toes, the use of Green Lantern as an elf instead of putting a woman into the role, and the meta dig at Batman franchise. Feel free to follow my rantings on any JSA/Earth 2 thread.

And now the peak of the week, what has the captain learned this week? There are basically two types of fiction, an old English teacher I had told me years ago in my youth. One is the normal protagonist in an abnormal world, or an abnormal protagonist in a normal world. Obviously these covers are examples of the second. We LOVE to see our characters and heroes doing what we do because it builds upon our feeling one with them. Star Wars Holiday Specials aside, it usually has a good impact. The captain has also noted the relative lack of participation this week. He assigns this to the fact that many of us are undoubtedly celebrating whatever with our whomevers.

Thanks to icctrombone and worstblogever for the votes.

And the merriest and happiest of holiday seasons to all you guys (you guys is a non-gender specific New England term).
