Default What if there were no male mutants (technically)?

Brought it up in the "create a what if" thread, decided to risk giving it a seperate one. Mildly inspired by Alara Rogers' XXY Genderswap project, which was partially created to focus on mutants as feminists. Prepare for terrible genetic science!

So, what I'm proposing is that the X-gene only manifests itself when the carrier has two x-chromosomes. The carriers with xy chromosomes still have the X-gene, but it doesn't manifest itself, so the carrier doesn't have powers. In other words, the male mutants of canon still exist, they just don't have powers, though their daughters will.

What happens when there's no Professor X, Magneto, Apocalypse, or Cyclops, but there is Destiny, Mystique, Selene, and Jean Grey?

I remember that. Didn't they only turn women into Claymores because men didn't have the testicular fortitude (I am choosing my words very deliberately, in this case) to resist going full yoma?

Heeeh. The premise is that 'powering up' creates a sensation comparable to an intense orgasm. Because female physiology allows them to go months to years without orgasming, they can better resist the urge to go wild and indulge in their powers, compared to most guys who're like "F*** yeah! Cleanup on aisle three!"

If mutant powers only manifested in women I imagine humanity would attempt to kill them off even quicker.

I don't think Storm used her mutant powers to overcome Malice did she?

You'd have no X-Men. Doesn't take a genius. Why don't you just say... what if we had no x-men... on the x-men boards...?

I have no doubt that if there were only mutant women, USA would have built ten times more Sentinels than in 616.

We wouldn't be reading X-men right now because the men in charge would say "it can't sell."

Good points. They would make the Salem Witch Trials look like a walk in the park, and those had women burned alive at the stake. Thermonuclear Armageddon would just take that to a whole new extreme.
