More I think about it Atlantic, New Orleans and Las vegas scene is interesting. Bludhaven has a bit of a cooking scene but better knwon for their entertainment and gambling scene.

Wannabe Nightwings is what they're doing in the title now with Ric Grayson, I believe.

I like the idea that Bludhaven has some New Orleans in it, that's interesting...

I would like to see a Bludhaven that builds on what's come before and adds to it. "Everything happened." And that unfortunately also includes being semi-nuked in Infinite Crisis.

So maybe it's "New Bludhaven." Or that's the name of a district. There are a lot of "New" city names in the real world, but not really any in the DCU... there should be a New something, so why not New Bludhaven. It makes the idea of a place being called "Bludhaven" a little more realistic in the way it points to the existence of an Old World Bludhaven somewhere in Europe's history.

I think Coast City would also work well as New Coast City for some of the same reason.

That's a good idea. Use the nuked Bludhaven to get rid of the Gotham's evil stepsister image and the time between Infinite Crisis until Rebirth to rebuild it into The Haven or Newhaven. A brighter, neon Vegas Miami resort coast town we see in Rebirth or something between Batman and Superman.

Are you talking about something between Las Vegas (or Atlantic City if you prefer), New Orleans and Miami, leaving to Gotham the role of gloomy industrial and evil city? I like the idea.

I don't have much memory about Miami Vice, being a baby when it came out, but if the image I got is correct... a sexy beach town with a dark side would fit Nightwing so well

    Refresh your memory.
    Miami Vice Theme

EDIT: Yes your image of a sexy beach town with a dark and criminal side is correct, in fact also the movie Scarface was set in Miami.

I mainly remember the bikini so the flamingoes surprised me.

I Pinterest Miami and this city is a mood. The beach, the night lights, but especially the sunset is great.

But I just remember that Haven is in Jersey so the beach will look more like Jersey Shore

That's an entirely different image. Less sexy, more douchey XD

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the great difference among Miami Beach and Jersey Shore is the kind of tourism they attract: more rich and sophisticated for Miami, while the one of Jersey Shore is more oriented to the working class. If I'm right we can hypothesize a Newhaven Beach (I like that name: it smells of rebirth of a city) similar to Miami Beach, because they would attract the same kind of tourists.

EDIT: Oh my gosh! I just had a vision: I saw Dick while he was driving a Corvette converted in a replica of a black Ferrari Daytona (he can't afford the real one), like the one of Miami Vice.

I don't know. Never been to both. So the image I have is based on the shows ^^

Oh, he got something similar. I think it's a rental though.

The casino scene could be called Bew Bludhaven. Maybe the casino since it’s near a port made a beach nearby it. Maybe with the ports, there are a few interesting stories that can be told. If we keep the New Orleans inspire, maybe voodoo also?

Newhaven is such a better name than Bludhaven. Aside from the inconsistent portrayals, that's my biggest gripe with the town is the name. It's just a little too on the nose.

Definitely in favor of the Vegas/Miami vibe

Maybe this. Bludhaven was a small port town. Small mobs moved there to make a name for themselves doing the prohibition era. Thanks to the size, not much law came by. This caused them to expand the city and renaming it. A New Haven for all people.

This is the map of Bludhaven. It's bigger than I thought. The length from south to north is about the same as Gotham's three islands. It's just not as wide or dense as Gotham.

    Attachment 90660
    North is right

Dick Grayson's apartment and the bar he worked on before he became a cop were located at Melville Section, Central Business District in the mainland. The building was destroyed by Blockbuster after he discovered Nightwing's identity.
Blockbuster's apartment, owned by The Penguin, was located at Avalon Heights, Caernarvon Section in the mainland, south of Melville Section.

The entirety of Bludhaven was destroyed by Chemo and then a wall was erected around the city to contain a nuclear radiation leak caused by a kidnapped Captain Atom. Within the city, Father Time conducted experiments on the citizens. Eventually, a fight between Father Time, Teen Titans, and Atomic Knights freed Captain Atom, who ordered everyone to leave, destroy Bludhaven into a crater and end the nuclear fallout.

Notable locations in the surrounding area that's included in the map are
    - Gotham City consisting of three large islands and Burnside District to the west in the mainland, connected by Burnside Bridge. I don't know which one is the bridge, there are four, but not the northwest bridge because that goes to Mercey Island where Arkham Asylum is located.
    - Somerset, north of Bludhaven, west of Gotham City, within Gotham County, containing Slaughter Swamp where Solomon Grundy was born
    - Old Titans lair, also located in the mainland Gotham County, a cave within a cliff overlooking Gotham River, the strait that divided the mainland and Gotham City islands. It's abandoned after its location was found out by Doctor Light.
    - Bristol Township, northeast of Gotham City, within the Kane County, is where Crest Hill, the upper-class neighborhood that Wayne Manor and Drake Household are located, connected to the north island through Robert Kane Memorial Bridge

So if we continue where it left off, Bludhaven is now a crater with Burnside and Slaughter Swamp in the north, so the only viable place to build Newhaven that has a beach is further south, still in the state of New Jersey.
