In my mind, Bludhaven is like Atlantic City + Las Vegas in New Jersey.

Gotham is NYC of the 1970s plus Prohibition-era Chicago. Both Gotham & Bludhaven are along the Atlantic coast.

Metropolis is modern NYC / SF, but landlocked.

I reread the series again. As far as I know, Seeley's part of Bludhaven is all-new. The neighborhoods, casino, boulevards use new names and appearances, but when the Ric Grayson story started, Scott Lobdell started pulling from old Bludhaven's neighborhood like Melville Section and Avalon Heights.

What Seeley pulled from the past are the enemies. Blockbuster made a return though not as powerful as the past version.

Most of the reformed criminals that made up the team of vigilantes in Seeley's story used to be Blockbuster's assassins, redesigned and drawn by Marcus To to look more like cute and quirky sidekicks than the quirky but dark mini-boss squad of the past.

Yeah! Basically I think Seeley had the exact right idea. It just needs to be expanded.

Maybe we can combine the two. What is the best part of the old Bludhaven and New Bludhaven designs and ideas?

Old Bludhaven supporting cast is stronger
Bridget Clancy the Irish Asian superintendent is almost a love interest
Hogan the owner of Hogan's Alley cop bar where Dick works and listen to convo before he became a cop is like a father figure
Amy Rossbach, his superior officer and later captain of BPD who's targeted by corrupt BPD cops and Deathstroke is like a nice, strict, frustrated big sister figure who later also found out his identity

New Bludhaven supporting cast kinda suffer from too many writers
The most consistent one is Detective Svoboda, Bludhaven's version of Harvey Bullock

The Run-offs, former villains turn good came off as Reject Teen Titans
Shawn Tsang is a love interest but because Seeley pushed her too fast and then also broke them off pretty fast didn't make a good impression
Then there are the Nightwings and Bea. Objectively they're good people, but because they came as Ric Grayson supporting cast and replacement heroes is a recycled idea from Bruce's amnesia story, they inadvertently get hated too.

The stand out one is Guppy, an adorably incompetent shark-person villain wannabe. He's in prison now because The Judge hypnotized him to kill his own father, which he regrets but accepts because it made him gain respect among the prisoners.

Design-wise New Bludhaven stands out more because of the casino image while the old one literally looks like Gotham's sister

I like this. It mixes a little old and new designs. It has a bit of grim yet also bright apperance.

Where did you get that? I don't have that in my Gotham folder. Thanks

I searched for Bludhaven. Maybe Bludhaven should look like this. I mean most of the DChero humans that live on Earth have a city. I mean if Dick is supposed to be a protector shouldn't he at a city in a sense. Or he can live from city to city. Fitting with his earlier life. Then again if he is in one city he can also track down other leads. So it can be a mix. Bludhaven is his home base. Once he gets his lead he will track down all leads going city to city
