Star Wars Rise of Skywalker: Improve or Ignore

Depends on the medium. If you are doing TV or a serial drama you have to do improve (see fan reaction to Dallas dream sequence). But given that this was the last issue of a trilogy (and you have to hit certain story beats and don’t want your franchise dead) ignore is a viable option.

If anything—i kind of wish they went full bore ignore—had a bigger time jump resolved most of the plot lines off screen etc. would have resulted in a more cohesive 3rd act.

Also the Terminator franchise with every new movie trying to “fix” the mistakes of the old one.

Or Donna Troy’s origin story. It all depends....
