«It's like kids trying to write stories for adults or something.»
There is an huge difference among write a good story and try to write a great one.

Batman's world isn't realistic. It's grounded in psychological realism… In real life, Batman's crusade would be a horrible idea.[…] But in the world Batman inhabits, it not only makes sense, it's absolutely the right thing to do.
Some sort of Batfamily civil war could be an interesting story. I think you kinda need Bruce out of the equation for it to work properly though, since he is pretty much the undisputed Batfamily leader who the vast majority of the family are too loyal too to stand against. Plus most agree with his code etc for that to cause any dispute.
Also you would need a good reason for the family to schism into two sides - and a reason which doesn't make one side look extremely bad or act out of character.
The only matchups that make sense here are Bruce VS Thomas and maybe Damian VS Tim. And both of those have already been done.
I'm strongly against this idea, mostly because there's already been a setup for this exact thing relatively recently, but it was thankfully resolved without violence from either group. And that situation was about something way more serious than "exclusive rights" or whatever; that's not even a thing they would fight over.

I don't want it either because whenever these things happen someone's bound to be portrayed out of character since most of these people have no reason to go against the other.
Even Damian and Tim settled their differences a long time ago. They still have some brotherly jabs but that's it.
Also, Cass and Dick's fighting's not gonna be very exciting. Cass and anyone except Shiva fighting's not gonna be exciting.
A Batfamily civil war would probably have to be centered around Bruce vs Dick. Both originators that could rally allies and test to loyalties of the other members.
Dick’s side would be Babs, Damian, Spoiler, Huntress. On Bruce’s there’s Kate, Duke, Cass, Azreal. Tim and Jason could go either way. Damian would intillaly be on Bruce side, but the twist would be he was a double agent for Dick.

I dislike the idea of a civil-war lite storyline for the Bats. Never had worked really well for me, usually means making a mess of a lot of characters. Hero vs hero: a trope I really dislike. You don't need to go to that extent to create some friction and tension between a group of characters.
That being said, maybe making the batfam side between two different sides because of what happened with RicDick when they find out what actually happened, could be even realistic. Babs and Damian would be in one side (It's Bruce fault, we should've looked into it deeper. We gave up too soon), Bruce in the other with maybe Tim and Dick himself (we did the best we could, we thought it was the best choice, a new start), if he doesn't choose to break all contact with them (could be either way, depending on his temper at the moment). Jason probably would stay away, unless he's called in, like with Kate's "trial". I could see something like that happening without forcing the drama, if they don't go into an actual open "war". Like what sometimes happens when a messed accident hits a family and someone ends hurt.

I'd imagine Black Lightning wouldn't be down to let Cass and Duke get wrapped up in any petty feud among the batfamily. I can see Luke and Tim taking their slot with Jason being an X-factor (and honestly probably a kingmaker for whichever side he falls on).
I think a cool spin would be to have Bruce vs Dick vs Jason, with Jason representing the outsider perspective; him, Clayface, David Zavimbe, and Gotham Girl are the wild card faction.

A bunch of grown ass adults whining that their are too many kids in comic books will never not be hilarious too me.
