Default Happy 80th Birthday to the Justice Society of America

DC may have forgotten their anniversary, but fans of the first and bestest assemblage of mystery-men - the Justice Society of America - know a good thing when they see it: Happy 80th birthday to the J.S.A. Here's to another 80 (and a return to an ongoing series!)...

Thank you for the thread start. I've always loved the JSA in all their incarnations. I've particularly liked the seeming "lost" stories told in the All Star revival of the 1970s and Adventure Comics in the 70s/80s. When you think about it the death of the E-2 Batman is one of the few comic book death that actually stuck.

While that's true, in fairness, CoIE came along before the after-life's revolving door got so well oiled.

I would have loved to have seen an 80th Anniversary book or the JSA. But instead of the multiple 8 and 12 page stories seen in most of these, do a large book length old school JSA story with each member getting a chapter done by a different artist.

Can someone let DC know it’s their anniversary? No 80th anniversary special? Instead we get Future filler stuff.

Happy 80th to the first superhero team ever. Too bad DC doesn't seem to like them.

The way that DC can't even stand them when the team isn't even full of old people anymore lmao. But I guess having only Jesse in terms of young Justice League clones/legacies will do that to a team.

If we don't get anything after Future State then I guess JSA having a book again will depend on if Black Adam flops or not?

Yeah, Jesse's a Flash legacy, but she's not the only one. Power Girl for starters, as an alternate universe Supergirl, she's definitely a Superman analogue.

I was only 10 years old when I was introduced to the JSA and I've been a big fan ever since. Hope we see them in their own title again soon.
