Maddie and Jean have never exactly been thrown against each other outside of Inferno though, and even then that was mainly just to get the plot into an endgame. Jean and Cassie have been explicitly thrown at each other at least twice, with an entire series being headlined around that.

Cassandra works better in general than Maddie, particularly after Red. "Sharing" her with Xavier isn't exactly an issue, same way it's done with Apocalypse and Archangel/Cable or Sinister and the Summers brothers.

Well, another thing is that Jean and Cassandra don't really have much interpersonal drama between themselves... Maddie has reasons to hate Jean, just like Nova has to hate Xavier, while Nova/Jean is just more of an overall hero vs villain battle.

A villian can be a nemesis to more than one person. Shadow King is for Xavier and Storm (and Psylocke). Apocalypse is for Cable and Warren. I think Red has solidified Nova for Jean

Nova is a better counter for Jean tho, since Madelyne was never a top telepath, her powers are more magic and her draining abilities like a vampire

Why can't Jean have both Madelyne, and Nova throw in the Mastermind sisters for fun, they all make wonderful foils for Jean all have reasons to have vendettas. Plus as others mentioned no one really has a monopoly on villains anymore Sabertooth was to Logan/Psylocke, SK was to Bets/Storm/Xavier, Apocalyspe has been to Angel/Cable etc.

I'd love to see Jean interact with Sooraya again. Don't think they have at all since Jean's return, and it always seemed like Dust looked up to Jean.

Guys, Jean looks creepy here.

So this scene got me thinking: What made Jean think she could screen out harmful solar radiation with her TK? Had she done it before? And where was Xavier doing this time? I know the Sentinels captured him after he brain-blasted one, but he was missing during the entire space mission and solar flare.

Can Jean now use her TK to filter out radiation or lightwaves? Could she shoot out multiple TK force projectiles such as balls, spikes, etc?
