Well at least the art was stunning and it was nice to see Jean outside the Marvel Girl costume.

Its ironic that the best Jean in a Hickman written issue is the one where he barely writes any dialogue for her. Im convinced that this issue happened bc Dauterman wanted it and he was the main creator on it
My expectations weren't high to begin with, I expected Jean to get thrown under the bus. I'm not too disappointed
Yep, Dauterman choose Jean and also ploted the issue. It was marvel style, so he was a co-writer as much as Hickman.
Hickman really doesn't have a good hold on Jean, if he has a hold at all. The worse part is that we depend on Jean chaarcter development to get her out of Marvel girl costume.
She will only get out of that ugly costume when something significant happens to her, who knows how much time it can take
Pure nostalgia. I'm tired of Jean being still in 2004
There is always the possiblity of killing Jean again. It's not lie he is any creative with Jean.
but I'm really afraid of what you said, he might get her the development and/or the clothes just on the end of his run.
I don't see any hint of him doing anything with Jean.
in another news Phoenix 1000000 BC showed up on today avengers, she has telepathic powers and there was vision about a future Phoenix
I could even put a bit more faith on Aaron doing something with phoenix Jean.

Yikes on the negativity. This issue while an homage was still great. Jean looked awesome and she was confident and capable. While it is natural to want more, at least we know Hickman can portray Jean well (or at least between Dauterman and Percy over in X-force, Hickman has been exposed to a well portrayed Jean Grey).
The page of Jean saving Emma is my new favorite Jean image. All in all it was a nice little story .
At least it was amazing seein jean face without the mask on a mission
we can be heroes, just for one day
Non Jean related (or kindda). Just read X-Men and the theme is "Crucible".
I don't know the story of "No More Mutants"...but was curious, did they ever explain why 198 were not affected? What's so special about the 198? Was it a flaw on Wanda's powers?
The reason I asked is, Wanda is always being referred to as more powerful against Jean and kept on referencing her edge because of the "No More Mutants" incident.
