I wouldn’t want to diminish Stephen Byrne’s work as “fan art” since he’s a pro with credits at DC Comics - next featured in LEGION of SUPER-HEROES - but he does in fact seem to be a huge X-FAN.

The other Byrne, John Byrne, is pencilling entire X-Men comics on his webpage. But it’s still ‘fan art’, despite his credentials.

For those who haven't seen it, Stephen Byrne posted the final 2 pages of his fan mini-comic a few days ago (I'm also including the last one he posted earlier this month). I admit I'm a little disappointed by the Logan reveal, haha.

I like that Jean is Phoenix here, and yet, she doesn't feel over powerful. She's not a Dea ex Machina, or a cosmic entity. Yet, she's Phoenix in suit (and surely in name). I love that.

I was "reading" this like a (great) comic--I had no idea where it was going, but I laughed along the way and really loved it! I "re-read" it a few times since I enjoyed it so much, lol! The artwork, expressions, coloring--all first class indeed!

Thanks for the info about Byrne’s new X-Men comic! I am reading it (X-Men: Elsewhen) now. It is actually quite good. Can’t wait to see what he will do with Jean.
