Russ has such good taste.
I really would like to see Jean in a costume like this (without the headpiece).

This armored Phoenix look would be perfect for Jean in my eyes.
I really want Jean and Rachel to step into this Phoenix crossover at the end and just stop it all! I would even be perfectly ok if the Phoenix Force bonded with both of them at the end and was stable for a few years after that!
Some of the series costumes are cool, but I really think that this writer doesn't understand what the Phoenix is, she's not just a force of destruction, she is the life spark of the Marvel universe and represents Life, Death, and Rebirth! Heck I remember that the Beyonder couldn't reboot the universe without the Phoenix, that is why he tried to trick Rachel into doing it by making her think the only way he could be defeated was to reboot the universe and make a new one!
I expect they'll have Thor kill the Phoenix at the end of the series, or have the Phoenix bond with Logan, and I honestly could never see the real Phoenix choosing Logan or Thor as a host!
Anyway, this series is annoying me before I even read it! I really hope that it ends with Jean and Rachel doing something at the end to stabilize the Phoenix Force!

I really would like all of the Donut Steel not-Jean Phoenixes to go away.
No more Sonichus.
the Phoenix Force outside of X-Men comics is just a device to sell more variant covers!! I think this is the only reason why it keeps showing up in those RIDICULOUS storylines to put heroes in new costumes for the covers. Nothing more.
I would actually like to see a return of the Phoenix Five: Jean, Rachel, Cable, Hope, and Quentin Quire split the Force into five parts to control and share it. I also think they should reestablish that you have to be a psy talent to tap into the Phoenix and bond with it.
I would love it if Jean and Rachel save the day from Aaron, but I know it won't happen. He already wrote Jean off at the end of that Moon Knight story and we all know none x-writers don't seem to know Rachel even exist or that she's the most successful Phoenix host ever.
I just wish Jean and Rachel shared the power and the Force's consciousness remained dormmate like Alan Davis did in his run with Rachel.
No thoughts on Jean's apeparance today in X-men? She is offered her seat back on the QC along with Scott but she declines it and makes her intentions clear to reform the X-men with him. It was pretty obvious but it looks like we definitely are going to get a new ongoing led by the two and this issue helped set that up. Next issue will have the two on their first mission as X-men and we may get hints as to whom may join them
I enjoyed X-men 16. It was well written. I love that Scott and Jean are restarting the X-men. The way they are deciding members is interesting. I wonder how long we'll have to wait for the Hellfire Gala. I do look forward to next issue with Scott, Jean, and Storm in space.
I really love the fact that Jean's doing this without wanting or needing Scott's permission like everyone tries to boil it down to. She's had so much agency in the past two issues of the X-Men title that it's insane compared to how Hickman wrote her in House of X. That's more important to me than her getting all sort of power feats, but those would be nice too.
I'd also like it if Jean ended up leading the actual X-Men team because Scott needs to be the Captain Commander but that might be a pipe dream.
