I actually prefer the original Marvel Girl over the AOXM one.

Long opera gloves(when they're not drawn like dish-washers)>>> Short ones

    Tight boots>>> Those baggy ones

Long sleves>>>short ones(though, ironically, the original MG design had short sleeves lol)

And when it comes to the issue of Jean looking too young, the AOXM one adds to that with that headband.

Eh. I don't have a problem with a woman who keeps coming back from the dead looking young.

Also she should steal one of Hope's costumes. She has better fashion sense even tho she grew up with Cable.

Some love the skirt, others hate it. But I'm pretty quite sur that almost all of us, think that it's not her best suit.
So why don't they give Jean a better one?

Unless Jonathan Hickman has a plan. And yes, I might be optimist here, but I trust him. He said that we had to remember the last time she wore that suit (during the Dark Phoenix Saga) : On the moon, Jean was not Phoenix anymore, her powers were contained. Yet, the Phoenix was still in her...

I prefer baggy boots than dishwashers glovers. Dishwater gloves doesn't look good with long sleeve

I think people would be more on peace if this was hinted on a book, so far we only have the interview and we don't know if Hickman is ever saying the truth

Nobody fight in a skirt, you cannot be taken seriously in that outfit...I would have prefer something more modern and commanding respect for Jean...maybe something on the line of captain marvel...Attachment 94816

The Supergirl costume worked on television for five years and it was only changed because Melissa Benoist wanted to wear pants in the cold Toronto weather. With that said, there's no reason to say the skirt is impractical.

Now does it need to be modernized? Absolutely.

I dont think its fair to keep comparing Jean to those DC characters when the skirt or underwear is iconic to their look and what they've worn 95% of the time. Thats never been the case for Jean. Her most iconic standard costume has her completely covered up and 95% of the others are the same except the Marvel Girl one. Its a dated look that doesnt suit her well in 2020

But the argument isn't that the look is iconic for Jean (which it is, to be frank. Other than the Phoenix costumes and maybe her 90s look, Jean's Marvel Girl dress is her most popular look), it's that if they wanted to modernize it or do it right they could. That's where the comparison to Supergirl comes from.

Well its apples to oranges to me bc I dislike Supergirl's current look on her show. Her costume sucks

Anywho, I wish X-force had a team look like X-factor is going to. Sage, Beast, and Jean could wear something modern that resemble uniforms than colorful super hero costumes.

Skin-tight spandex is not appropriate for combat against humans with guns but that hasn't stopped 70% of the X-Men from wearing it. By that logic, a skirt is fine.
