I can totally believe Hal would want to have last words with Bruce to try and give Bruce some peace of mind and as a credo to their relationship.
Plus, it was an aspect of Johns' run so I'm not surprised to see it referenced again.
dc special #29
There has got to be more important people in Hal's life than Batman.
Would Batman even crack the top 10?
Wouldn't it be funny if the 3rd message is to Sinestro? lol Outside of the GLC, he doesn't send messages to Carol or his family or his closest friends, but to Batman and Sinestro. That probably wouldn't sit well with many people.
The story plot seems too much like Brave & Bold 30 with Dr. Fate.
Me three. Hal has so many people in his life, it seems out of place that he'd contact Batman. Guess we'll be able to really judge it when it comes out.
What fairly recent story was it where Hal only had a little charge left and the last thing he did was make an image of Carol? (Hitch's JLA?)
I hope the 3rd message is to Tom, mostly because the title "Last Will" reminds me of The Last Will and Testament of Hal Jordan, which Tom was the main character of. I just think it'd be a nice callback, and it would be nice for Tom to appear anyway.

Exactly.
For the first 25 years Hal was around, his and Alan's interactions were defined by the fact they existed in parallel universes; each being the counterpart to the other. They operated under very different circumstances, in different settings, much like the E-1 and E-2 Hawkmen. And by the time DC merged realities into one, things were very different - the JLA/JSA team-ups were a thing of the past, and the JSA was offstage quite a bit - so we saw very little of Hal teaming up with Alan post-Crisis. And then ET/Zero Hour happened.
It wasn't until the year 2000 that Mark Waid retconned any sort of old guy/young guy relationship into the mix. And while I get the why - Waid wanted to expand the whole legacy thing backwards into their history, as DC was doing in that era - to my mind it just never fit.
This seems like a good mix of stories and GL's in my opinion.
