Hal and John were given more fighting scenes. GLs even gained the upper hand of Superman in fighting. However, when Hal was introduced they didn't say he was chosen to lead the corps because of his honesty and willpower or the captured pilot story. Only some high-up said something like "Captain Jordan, I want you to lead an army".
And how the GLs were defeated was VERY DUMB. Wonder Woman came to save Superman from GLs. After some talk she decided to renounce Superman. While one GL was trying to tell jokes to Superman "Women, right?"(I can't tell if it's Guy or Hal, they look almost the same in their uniforms and I'm bad at recognizing voices), Superman punched his way out and defeated all of them.
I'm surpirised that of all people, the script writer JMD, who's created many brilliant GL works, wrote this...
BTW, I said this animation is garbage not only because Hal and other GLs were wrongly handled. Many defining moments in comics were either deleted or badly presented. They totally changed the meaning of the comic.

Duplicated post
Red Son wasn't very impressive, but Hal's design ain't bad.

One of the saddest moments of him no doubt. Guilt ridden, full of regrets, all alone on some distant planet reminiscent of all that he lost. Looking at images like this, I think I can understand why some people liked Parallax Hal better than ordinary Hal.
I was pissed off when I read that issue... Especially comparing to how Hal's old pals kept saying "you're wrong" "you're unworthy of GL" to him and congratulated and recognized Kyle when Hal left.
