Oh, I love the way Doc Shaner draws Hal! I'm excited for the next SA issue.

For curiosity's sake, who is everyone's favorite artist for GL? This is kind of a weird one, but I love Ryan Sook's take on Hal in the Spectre series. I also dig Neal Adams's very 70s Hal in GA/GL.

I generally prefer Hal's hair looking a bit more tousled and him sporting a slightly disheveled look as opposed to the super clean look many modern artists give him.

I'm used to the clean cut look, hence stories like Earth One felt odd to me, as far as Hal's looks are concerned. Maybe it's also on a subconscious level, since I tend to associate Hal being more disheveled with the grey hair look that I totally hate.

The grey hair M.D. Bright look doesn't look very disheveled imo - it looks super clean which makes him look stiffer and well...older.

I don't really mean disheveled in the sense of Hal sporting a full-on beard or anything but just having a touch of ruggedness to him.

My go-to example for this Hal look would be Neal Adams' Hal which has a very distinctly 70s feel. I think Sharp captures it pretty well.

I agree with you about Earth One Hal's looks though. Feels very off to me too - but then again, he has that short cropped hair in that one which I really dislike lol.

Reis and Mahnke are definitely up there. Sharp has done a great job so far, but I'll wait until the end of the series to see whether to put him on that pedestal or not.

Liam also seems to have a high regard for Hal's character.

Well, it's good to see at least someone does. I don't think most DC creators in general are particularly enamored with the character. Not that I've had any indication they dislike him or anything, but if they're fond of him you usually get a vibe for it like with Sharp. I think Doc Shaner likes him, too.
