For what it's worth, we had someone who "got" superheroes run the DC movie division for a while and didn't exactly do a very good job.

Perhaps but at this point I can't just have faith in everything Johns does. He has written characters that he supposedly cares about in a bad way before.

Not everything Johns touches turns to gold true, but there was a love to his writing on GL, JSA and even the Flash that you didn't see in other books he has written. I long for the day that Geoff returns with much fanfare to Green Lantern, with a dual art team of Darryl Banks and Ivan Reis but I fear in a way that GL might be his Citizen Kane and Geoff might not want to mess with something that was soooo big for him. More immediately I also really hope they give the JSA to him once they finally greenlight a JSA book.

I get why you might see it as that, but it's just a more sci-fi take on the Green Lantern concept rather than superhero-based. I wouldn't want this to replace the DCU GLC, but I liked it for that.
