An New Beginning For All

Um. So 2019 was very "haha anyways" for our crew. Whether it was Armor v. Jean or Rockslide getting beaten by Globert or Anole handing over the mutant vaccine to O*N*E or Pixie being conditioned into becoming the school narc or the Academy X killfest in Rosencanny, that Extinction era is PAST us. It's finally time to embrace the new mutant nation of Krakoa as well as the Five (a team that includes our golden boy Elixir) who are bringing back any and every dead mutant. The current New X-Men are living on the Akademos Habitat in the ZETA House.

Once a grizzled old war veteran from an apocalyptic future, Cable has a new lease on life as a young mutant living on the mutant paradise Krakoa, but you can’t keep a good soldier down! Ready for adventure and looking for trouble, Nathan Summers will be headlining an all-new solo series this March that will take the son of Cyclops to places he’s never gone before. Cable has always been destined for greatness, whether that be saving mutantkind, sparking rebellion, or both! But why wait? That destiny starts right here, right now! And as no stranger to taking promising young mutants under his wing, expect to see some of your favorite younger X-Men like Pixie and Armor along for the ride!



The next wrinkle in the unfolding story of the X-Men is all about the newest mutant power: unlimited resurrection. Polygon can exclusively announce the next book to join Marvel’s expanding X-Men slate is X-Factor, and partly about the Five, a group of characters whose powers combine to create the miracle of mutant immortality.

But it’s mostly about a new team of Krakoan operatives, comprised of the speedy Northstar, one of Marvel’s earliest openly queer characters; the all-seeing Eye Boy; the telepathic Rachel Grey; the polymath Prodigy; the magnetic Polaris; and Daken, Wolverine’s disaster son. They are X-Factor, and their job is to investigate and confirm mutant deaths — but not to avenge them.

Since many of the New X-Men haven't even had the chance to be on-panel and killed off, I think the question should be the other way around. All the main X-Men are a couple of weeks old, so the New X-Men have seniority.
