If this is a JDW interview, it’s probably gonna be a quick sentence about why the New X-Men don’t work and that we’ll all happily be able to see Surge in a starring role in the background, crudely drawn and missing her gauntlets.

I agree, this is probably going to be a "Where are they now?" Q&A at best, more likely another "sure, our writers have lots of freedom, but we only want to push certain characters" explanation.

LOL exactly. The comic book people LIVE for ironic stars (including the ones in the banner!), but a bunch of brown folks would definitely be 'inorganic'.

Hellion, Loa, and Mercury are gonna be a part of Christian Frost’s crew. Mark my words. Or don’t because I don’t even believe them.

I would straight up die. Bling! needs to be on the boat too, for the irony of being on Mercury, and for her crystalline body of a different kind to Miss Frost.

I've been giving Marauders a lot of thought, and beyond the NXM already mentioned, I'm petitioning for Siryn, Beautiful Dreamer, Husk and Icarus to crew Mercury. And Shatterstar, whom Christian meets on a rendezvous to one of the 'private parties' hosted by Gabriel Summers or Jamie Braddock.

There's no way this is a team book. For a split second I thought it might be X-Corp, but somehow I doubt it. Our best bet is a hint or two where these characters will show up next (Dust in Champions, Maggott & Wind Dancer in X-Factor, Surge in Cable etc.)

This is PERFECT. Plus, Bling! and Husk being on the Marauders would fit in with their attitudes of not wanting to be too sucked into Krakoa. Also, Mercury and Shattybuns as pirates fits way too well. Siryn fitting the role of... well a mythological siren.

I don’t know if this is merely convenience, but the track record of “young mutants” in the Cable being New X-Men makes me hopeful that we could see Surge, Anole, Rockslide, etc etc later down the line. I don’t know if Duggan picked Hellion’s name out of a box to use during UA, but I would LOOOOOOVE for him and Cable to have some kind of rivalry. It just fits.

Hopefully we’ll see Wind Dancer and maybe even the statuses of Loa, Icarus, Wallflower, Quill, and the rest. I trust Leah!!

RIGHT. literally jumping over tables for the chance to gawk at a joke character but when it comes to brown characters and trans folks it’s: “uhh ummm. well uh you see- hm. well...”
