At least someone is using one of them outside of the x-men line

To be fair, I’m not sure she fits in with the current Krakoa lifestyle.

So I’m glad she’s used in Champions.

Can those in the know explain Sooraya's dynamic with Ms. Marvel & Company over in the Champions?

    I'd love to know more.

During War of the Realms, Cyclops asked Sooraya to join the Champions, as at the time (pre-Krakoa) he believed his own team was on a suicide mission. She's stayed with the Champs since, but she and Kamala have very little in common. And in this issue, she called her out for her leadership.

Of course, she's probably calling out the wrong thing there, as Kamala wasn't even on the scene (or in costume) at the time.

Dust fell in with the Champions while all of the X-Men were stuck in the Age of X-Man. She had no idea what happened to them because she didn't answer Jean's call the action.
Some anti-mutant protestors were trying to knock down a statue of the X-Men (which is a weird looking back now but this was 2018) Sooraya was defending it because she felt guilty she wasn't with them when it fell. The Champions showed up to try to calm everyone down (defending the hate mob from the angry mutie)

And then because it's comics, an angry alien with a vendetta showed up out of nowhere and Dust defeated her in seconds. So the Champions asked Dust to join.

But Kamala wasn't on the mission where they recruited Dust, and as the nominal leader of the Champions she was annoyed that she wasn't consulted, even though she was the one who'd gone on a recruitment drive for the team almost doubling their membership and adding reserve members. So Kamala was a bit cold towards Sooraya until WotR

It always kinda felt like a "there can only be one Muslim girl hero" conflict and Kamala felt threatened. But I could be reading into it

I think that narrative is exactly what they’re getting at lol. Kamala is cool with a bunch of no-names joining and wants the Champions to be a global movement UNTIL another competent Muslim girl (who expresses her belief differently) joins.

As much as I like Kamala, too few of her teammates question her leadership.

So it’s nice to see Dust and Starking give her sass.

Im trying to be be positive here. Do we think because of Rockslides "death". That we have better chance at seeing a lot more of the Academy kids soon?

I don't know if you guys collect Marvel Legends, but in this interview with the team behind the line, Ryan Ting (one of their marketing guys, who's also responsible for selecting which characters to make figures of along with Dwight, Dan and probably others) said that he'd love to see figures of the Academy X kids, mentioning Surge and the Hellions. So I think letting him know on Twitter that we'd also love that would probably help for that to ever happen.

It was April 2019, actually. Champions #4 last year. Cyclops told her to join Kamala's team in issue 5 (the WOTR tie-in).

Leah Williams in Women of Marvel Comics:

I just wrote a haunted house issue of X-Factor and it’s in arc 2 which is where we’re really diving into the mystery of how Prodigy died and why he’s repowered now because it’s been kept a secret up till now. So there’s a haunted house issue of X-Factor now that I’m obsessed with. It’s so fun and ridiculous.

Is Prodigy's death a mystery to just the audience or to the characters as well?
