No way they do a comic accurate Rich Rider, his origin is virtually the same as Hal Jordan's, and they won't want to be seen as copying that flop Green Lantern movie.

True but that may very well be Sam's best way in. Kyle Rayner's media exposure is still pretty exclusive to the comics other than that brief cameo he made in that Justice League Unlimited episode. Therefore his origin story is not as well known as Hals' or John's. Sam would be in the perfect position in this case to claim "FIRST!" if they go ahead with his origin.
Sam's origin also makes the most amount of sense to introduce to the MCU since it was mentioned in Avengers: Infinity War how Thanos pretty much decimated the Nova Corps anyway. When Sam first got his helmet in the comics, the Nova Corps was also pretty much destroyed/disbanded.
Small thing I should mention, though: Kyle technically first appeared in the DCAU in an episode of Superman: The Animated Series. While his career as an artist was retained, his look and backstory were retooled for a closer resemblance to Hal Jordan's, at least in terms of how he became (a) Green Lantern. That said, I could see Richard Rider and Sam Alexander both appearing in a future MCU Nova production, with Richard passing on the last functioning Nova Corps helmet to Sam and hoping for the best since he's too injured or otherwise unable to go on and doesn't have time to find someone "more qualified," like how Ganthet passed on the last functional Green Lantern power ring to Kyle.
The spider is always on the hunt.
