I don't think that during the Hickman era Cyclops romantic/sexual life will be any more developted than it was so far. The only guy who is writting him is Hickman and he only really cares about world building and plot developtment and he probably already delved on Cyclops personal life as much as he wanted.

Retconned in stories can also be terrible. See Deadly Genesis and that terrible page in classic xmen where Jean was afraid of Logan.

Well, these are definitely some interesting conversations. As for "legends", Cyclops will probably be fine as long as Claremont doesn't write him. We'll probably end up getting something vindictive from him.

But your feelings of any story are valid and I respect them .

As a Cyclops fan that story made me swear off Brubaker forever. Something about him abandoning his entire team to die while he ran away sobbing. Brubaker's Scott should never have been in the field, much less leading a team.

Basically, it wasn't Scott at all, just a plot induced personality change crammed in to make a story work, and possibly the most egregious example I can think of.
