That's pretty cool. I think that is one of the smaller Doom action figures I have. I can't weigh in on the G.I. Joe universe but that is an intriguing idea. Look at how they have made Conan part of the MU recently when his comics were always set in the same setting just as when Robert E. Howard created him.

Just had to add this here (and I did start a separate thread)

Doctor Doom from Jon Bogdanove will always be a personal favorite (no matter how divisive many critics & fans regard his artwork):

I didn't realize there anyone looked on his art with disfavor. I thought it was fine. This was an era when artists didn't have the luxury of time and deadlines were pretty tight.

To be completely honest, I recently discovered these unfavorable observations while poking around the X-Men forums.

But I do agree with you, I always thought his artwork was well done.

I know, right?! So much behind-the-scenes drama produced such wonderful products in those days.

If that was the X-men forums, that's a younger group of fans there. They tend not to be familiar with the artists that did things old style....no digital enhancements.

Just think about how John Byrne would write, draw, and sometimes ink AND do the lettering on the Fantastic Four. Many times he put together the letters page too!

Saw this on on Mike Deodato's Instagram account. It looks it was inspired by his variant cover for Doctor Doom #1. I think this is the largest work I've seen with Doom as the subject

Looks like we won't see that Doctor Doom #7 issue we should have had a couple of months ago until the end of September. It does say the date is subject to change

Current location of Doctor Doom #7 that was shipped at the end of March

I guess this shows how fragile the delivery & distribution system is for printed comic books. We are still getting newspapers, magazines distributed but one link in the the comic book system's chain goes down and it all falls down. Now that DC is going elsewhere for distribution one wonders what Marvel's next move will be.

They should have figured something out by now, particularly since it's a good time to capitalize on the Eisner nomination. The massive warehouse is an apt image, IM.

I worry about the fragility of our LCS. Their owner recently died unexpectedly and the family isn't as invested in keeping it going as a business. If it shuts down I will be very disappointed and disheartened. The local crew was stellar at keeping my Doom obsession well fed.

Judging by the other cover he posted maybe he never finished it? Looks like a very roughed in version. Thanks, Ravin' Ray!

Looks like Doom is wearing his Secret Wars 1984 armor with the absent cape and the front circuitry. Cool!

Good point! Too bad he discarded it and now I am curious if it is relevant to the story. It's hard to tell these days since many times a variant cover has little bearing on the contents of the issue.
