Honestly, this looks kinda cringe.

It's an homage to the last panel of Incredible Hulk #180:



Wolverine's weird pose and those dialogues/editors notes combined with this modern/realistic art style makes this new variant cover looks really strange though lol.

Yeah, I am aware of that but I think the original art style is just better. It's more iconic and it shows how far he has came from all those eras. Making it an homage is just awkward for me.

Yeah, I am aware of that but I think the original art style is just better. It's more iconic and it shows how far he has came from all those eras. Making it an homage is just awkward for me.

It's just a variant so it doesn't really bother me, but honestly it's an important moment and they're currently doing several homage variants of several key moments of Logan's life so it's not surprising that this moment was also included.

Dell'Otto is amazing but yeah it's a shame we don't see him doing any interior art anymore but just variant covers, the last Marvel comics he penciled was the one shot Amazing Spider-Man: Family Business and that was almost 6 years ago.

I think one of the problem is that his art takes time, I remember that when he was drawing Secret War (the one written by Bendis) in 2004-2005, the mini was hit with several delays.

That was quite some time ago IIRC but either way, I get what you mean though. Maybe that's one of the reasons he has done so few in the comic book industry.
