Loved this. Just read it in the "Bloodties" TPB. Love this contrast as well. Here's this badass X-Men villain with a cool badass name, Exodus....who suddenly meets his match with an Avenger known as Sersi who just happens to be an Eternal. At the time, the X-Men and the X-universe were seen as being all that. But this showed that the Avengers could thrown down too. Cool how Sersi just calls Exodus as an "amateur."

I'm just starting to read Eternals #1 from 1976. Reading it digitally. I am finding the the artwork and text a strain on my eyes. It's so busy! So much text. I haven't read much of Jack Kirby's work. I don't know if it's the artwork or the inking...

Not everyone takes to Kirby's style right away. Especially if you're most accustomed to current artwork. Granted, I never read any of his work electronically, but Kirby definitely grew on me.

Not sure how I feel about the second piece with Captain Marvel and Ikaris. It doesn't help that I just finished binge-watching 4 seasons of The Man In the High Castle. Can't get the concept of the Lebensborn out of my head. This would make a fitting propaganda poster for the program. Also can't help but think of Miracleman more and more whenever I see Ikky. Hope Marvel eventually does something with the character.

Yeah, it definitely takes some getting used to. I'm finding it helpful to just magnify one panel to fill the whole screen and read it like that, one panel at a time... Otherwise I feel like my senses are being bombarded with too much information.

I find reading or sketching for long periods on my iPad or Wacom off-putting in that way, too. There's just no substitute for an actual comic or book -- or fior that matter, a regular old pencil and paper.
