Yeah, I mean the biggest indicator was JPG and the couplesÂ’ pajama onesie sets as well as rings(Hot Topic). If it wasnÂ’t known, they wouldnÂ’t have been marketed together as a couple in the first place itÂ’s just that... how about going further with acknowledgment and really capitalizing on it in the biggest of ways possible.

BTW, with that in mind, the SMWW collection when trying to explain the transition to rebirth, seemed to be just as confused saying Rebirth was a reboot? I canÂ’t recall if the merge was mentioned. But it was definitely New52 Superman died and replaced but rebirth was a reboot. 🤔

The SM/WW collection tried to explain it simple to not confuse casual readers.

With New52 Continuity now separated as Earth 52, wondering if after reborn it was already seen to not have been a good idea after all and want that sort of ignored/retcon of a retcon...of a retcon?

I'm sure that split the New52 in its own earth was already the idea when Reborn was made (Johns started working to DDC a few months before). It's the "merge" that doesn't really fit. But that was Jurgens and co. trying to fix the continuity problems caused by introducing a Superman from another timeline in the main continuity.

See, with the likes of DC Comics Presents #32's SM/WW kiss, new52, even few pre52 references like Adam Hughes Wonder Woman 141 cover is great for licensing print that targets not just couples but individuals as well. Around the release of Wonder Woman 1984, many Wonder Woman related collections will come out courtesy of DC Comics. 😁 According to the latest solicts, the collection Wonder Woman Through the Years will contain, among other stories, Wonder Woman (1986) #15-16, #140-141.

In WW #15, Diana has romantic dreams about Superman and pray Eros for advice about her feelings. A issue later, Diana is encouraged to see Superman on a date, and her publicist arranges her a private meeting with Superman. In WW #140-141, after Clark's feelings for Diana resurface, they end up trapped in a shared dream, living the life they would have lived if they were together.

Small progress.

DC should straight add issues from Soule's SM/WW in a next collection. 🙃

It’s a critical/ financial success. It moves the characters to unknown territory for the better of taking risks and forward to the change of time and mindsets of interest.

Even with that, it didn’t seem right because that wasn’t the Superman that belonged period. It was just an odd shift for both fans and characters. The development of dynamics ended up a mess as it still is.

Yep. Like I said in last post, there seem to be a lot of official SMWW merch around internationally however yes very hard to find unless in US.🤨 It takes collectors and/or individual fans to post pics either IG or twitter.

Hmm... this was the same when the first Wonder Woman movie was released. A few recommendations for WW was of course Perez, Azzarello, and Soule’s Vol 1 and I believe even League of One as well. In People magazine, SMWW romantic relationship was also acknowledged I believe saying it was complicated and an on/off thing LOL

So it’s not quite surprising for their relationship to be acknowledged in collections as it is one of the most important aspects of the characters....it’s just surprising that after the whole rebirth thing of seemingly ignoring and revisionist history of their dynamic in its entirety it’s getting acknowledgement in ways again.

This is good news. Small progress, yes. But it is something. I will be on the look out for this because I'm definitely getting it. Please share links when it becomes available. Superman and Wonder Woman have so much history and it should be recognized not try to hide it or use revisionist history and retcons to say otherwise. My post crisis SuperWonder heart would be happy for this collection. I'm waiting on DC to collect all of Kingdom Come adding the epilogue panels from JSA #22 😍.
