The original has natural conflict that has nothing to do with soap opera relationship conflict. Writers are so used to only that when it comes to testing relationships, and “they will, won’t they” trope, they can’t think outside.

I didn't mind some conflict of arguments as it made it more real and was sometimes a part of their dynamic, but I do agree that the conflict from the second creative team felt forced and maybe even a degree sinister given how everything played out when you look back. Who knows.
Well as long as they come up with dynamics that mirror the Superman wonder woman relationship then I'm all for it, instead of looking into DC properties instead which seem to be going nowhere.
