I simply adore these sorts of pics of our favorite couple enjoying mundane joys of domestic tranquility.

Although I can't help but wonder what exactly has so shocked Diana? Whatever it may be, her expression is priceless.

Again DC relies on the name Batman and characters related to him. In the top 100 of comics we have Batman dominating all of DC with one or another special appearing as Doomsday Clock (success that succeeds with the appearance of Manhattan), Heroes in Crisis and DCeased ... relative to Superman, which is what we are interested in. only Superman Year One and Golden Child ... note that both titles are with alternate versions of Superman and his family, we know well that in both he is with Diana as his wife and GC is about their children (and yes we have BATMAN and Superman here but again BATMAN is the main name). To reinforce this thesis we have Kingdom Come in 56th place in the top 100 of Graphic Novels, yes Kingdom Come which will turn 25 in 2021 is still one of the company's best selling graphic novels ... again an alternate version of Superman that maintains a relationship with Diana. Also out of curiosity I read on the weekly Top 10 on Bleeding Cool site that some sellers are complaining that this phase of DC is selling less than the worst phase of new 52 and that long time readers are abandoning books and that new readers are not getting interested in the published material. DC needs to republish new 52, republish new 52 Superman and new 52 Wonder Woman to not lose more readers of the new 52 era and to attract new ... DC needs the SMWW readers back, we are loyal and we consume the product!
1 Bold: Great to see overall of 2019 top 100, Golden Child did make it as well as the surprised amount of positivity. Really hope we have more of Lara and Jon soon. Superman:Year One as well is kind of a surprise. It wasn’t perfect but gave a different view of Dark Knight Universe’s Superman for the better. However, it is sad to see that everything else within top 100 for DC is Batman. 😕

2 Bold: Kingdom Come is such a deep and realistic story for these characters. We actually see them go through obstacles, stumble, learn from choices that may or may not have been good, and earn a happy ending while moving forward. Diana is the most important part of this story because she is the wisest, most mature, the biggest motivator and push for Clark to be the man, leader, and hero she knows he is. Things evolve. That’s what makes this story resonate as it has.

3 Bold: To reiterate, nothing was wrong with sales. Miscommunication and trying to hold on to past stuff instead of completely moving forward with the clean slate New52 presented. All we can hope for is that with new52 being out there, an opportunity is taken to revisit this continuity and/or the concepts that did work (specifically SMWW of course).

    Ah, lol. 😉

During 5G, there are supposed to be books set out of the main line. Earth-52 SM/WW could continue there. 🤔

Hessia really stood out and it was great representation for WOC as a mentor, doctor and sensei. I don’t know if any other Amazons that have been written with this angle of living and settled in man’s world before Diana?
During Post-Crisis, Hippolyta became the Wonder Woman active during the 2nd world war. That's the only other example I can think of.

Well the way he was first presented seemed as so and much hype with that but once his actual origin was revealed, honestly interest was lost and just seemed like a waste of a character adding Magog. Could’ve just had Circe transform a kid that has an emotional (tragic) connection to SMWW and go from there developing a relationship.

Even that idea of one of their kids visiting would’ve been a better story than what happened to WonderStar.
Agree. Magog was probably added as a call-back to KC, but his story went nowhere.

I'm looking forward to see the actual sales numbers for The Golden Child (tomorrow?). From its position in the chart, it should be close to the 90k. And there was reorders too if I'm not mistaken.

Sadly, Rebirth crashing and burn faster than the New52 (and without a Convergence and DC-You messing with it) will not give us back SM/WW, it'll just lead to other initiatives like the rumored 5G whose target is the same as the New52 (new young readers) but it's not about appeasing fans of the New52 era.

Yes, it's sad to see that DC is reduced to Batman and his family / characters connected to him ... it's sadder still to see DC with so many powerful and interesting characters.

It’s possible. Would hope but not holding my breath. It would honestly even make sense if to revisit the earth. It’s obviously the biggest part that stood out.

🤔 Hmm... I may have to read those certain stories with Hippolyta but, yeah, Hessia remains the best representation to be an Amazon living in man’s world other than Diana.

It was a call back but unnecessary and didn’t add any substance or purpose to the story.

Grampa has posted on his IG story that it’s also selling out in some stores etc... so this is all really good.

This....I don’t understand. DC goes back to concepts time and time again that have already shown not to be much of sellers. New52 was better and actually had the potential to reach wider audiences. SMWW has proven to work over and over again. Critical and financial success only when taking a 180 on the story and characterization for needless drama and knowing what was coming at the end of it all was what dwindled it a bit.

But the reactions of knowing new52 has its own earth as been more and more clear that there is still interest.

The wrong choices are being made to try to get the interest of the modern audience.

Always hope for the better. 🤞

Yeah, the SM/WW relationship is/was a big part of the New52 continuity as well what readers mostly miss from that era.

It happened during Byrne and Jimenez runs on WW.

Really hope that the positive feedback about the possibility of seeing SM/WW again on another earth is making DC aware (again) that there is (and there has always been) an audience for the pair.

Really hope for better for Superman and Wonder Woman. These two are the main characters more important than Batman especially now in this time. They should be the leads.

Kingdom Come is proof that you can have great stories with Superman and Wonder Woman having a relationship ... the depth and complexity of both is magnificent.
That’s why so many connect to their relationship. It holds so much substance, depth and complexity.

Wonder Woman was literally created to be just that. THE counterpart and challenge to Superman. Give a balance of representation for young girls to be inspired by.
And Exactly, whether they are best friends or lovers, their relationship is so important because of what it represents and means in the real world to be an inspiration and motivation to individuals and couples.
