That story is absolute nonsense. Selene is not as good a telepath as Emma for starters and also Selene did not join the HFC till much later of the Dark Phoenix Saga. When I read it I remember thinking that AGAIN Editorial did a botched job reg continuity.

I had the same thought at the time. It was especially dumb because the story with Selene first appearing and joining the club lost value, as if she was Shaw assistant.but also because she made a big entrance to the club later.

Better forget about it.

She was meant to look like Diana Rigg. There was never that indication especially if you go by the interview in X-Men Companion

I thought she was supposed to look like Faye Dunaway (which she did) ... I am quite glad Emma has been pictured very differently over the years though I am not a big fan of her being drawned cheesy... it does not fit the character.

She was inspired by Emma Peel played by Diana Rigg. Wyngarde, Shaw all have counterparts too from the Avengers

I think Byrne mentioned later that he also used imagery of Faye Dunaway

I think Emma Peel was used for Jean Grey´s Black Queen...Faye Dunaway for Emma.. In any sense, I dont picture Emma like Faye Dunaway -- more like Charlize Theron

great edit, marvel heroes emma was cool, they even responded to fans sugesting a move where she created a psychic wip because there was a one time instance in a cartoon.
I played her with a focus on telepathy but you could go hybrid as well

So in September we will see Emma in Marauders12 (I wonder what her "move" will be) and in the Storm special. It sounds promising.. I don´t see her in X of Swords though :-( That is quite a pity. Hickman makes Emma shine.

She will probably show up for a moment or two in the Marauders chapters of XoS but...as much as I love her, I'm quite okies with her (and many others) sitting out this cross-over. I Like that other characters like Magik and Rachel and the Summoner are getting some moments of shine.
