John designs a lot of stuff off panel and like Bruce planning things before the story, it's cheap and not interesting at all. I want to see those gears turning!

Hmmmm...I'll add that to my rotation. It has been quite a while since I've heard that.

I normally break out the theme to Walker, Texas Ranger when negative energy becomes overwhelming.

IIRC, John designed the Hall of Justice when Brad Meltzer was writing Justice League of America.




It really was PFU that John's tragedies rolled over despite reboots, and retcons.

Venditti's time on the Justice League was short and may not have broken new ground, but he created content that would easily serve as an introduction to the League if DC decided to do a giant-size book that's marketed and sold to kids/preteens at places like Wal-Mart. DC could even include solo stories in the collection.



His mission statement was to strengthen the team dynamic for the stuff ahead, and he's done that, showing other writers how to handle the Big 5 effectively all at once.



He's also left a few things in the toy box for future writers to play with.

If you haven't read it already, Justice League Annual #2 serves as a good bookend to Venditti's short run. Feels like comfort food. Since it's a mystery, it's mostly a Batman/Flash story, but the other Leaguers all play a prominent role, especially John. His time as an architect plays a role in the story, as does his experience with alien worlds.



I'd love for DC to give Venditti a Justice League book targeted at new/young readers.
