By the way the actress who played Maggie Sawyer in supergirl is not white.
She is another example of brown looking person.
She even says she is a poc in the show.
Floriana Lima is a Italian poc but in the show she played a latino poc.
https://arrow.fandom.com/wiki/Floriana_LimaFloriana Lima (born March 26, 1983) is an American actress. She portrayed Maggie Sawyer in Supergirl.
This was a fun little debate and hopefully it open some eyes( i think it needs to be visited again but in another thread or another forum) but i think it's time to move off from this topic.

Please define what you mean by White. Does Ariana Grande qualify?
Is she Native American or Amerindian because she has a more tan skin tone?
Is DC promoting Jessica Cruz as Black? I'm just interested in finding out if DC is changing course from their trend with black characters like John Stewart.

Edited above.
I am not sure if she is some native background or not.Is she Native American or Amerindian because she has a more tan skin tone?
I don't remember.
She could have some native or african or both.
She does not look like most native americans.
She looks brown like jessica, not east asian/native.
In fact she looks alot like jessica cruz when jessica is drawn correctly.
No,she being promoted as another green lantern who is superhuman and is a poc latino who is brown. Is DC promoting Jessica Cruz as Black?

Agreed. And Ariana is racially White with an ethnically Southern Italian background. Jessica is racially white with an ethnically hispanic background. This is apparent from the illustrations of her. She has no afro, asian, or amerindian features.
Superman with a tan is still phenotypically white, just like the "bronze" Doc Savage.
Again, DC isn't doing their black characters like John Stewart any favors. This is consistent with their decades long track record.

Jessica cruz does not have any white features.
Ariana does not look clearly white either.
Let me ask this.
What does comic vibe from dc,and pedro look like too you?
Here some examples.
Pedro Peña (Prime Earth)
Francisco Ramon (Prime Earth)
Here is another new latino.
Miguel Montez (Prime Earth)
They don't look white or black,or native/asian.
They all racially look more like jessica cruz.
Intermediate race types.
All of the characters above are white Hispanics. In central and South America, they'd just be called white. If you have questions about their racial or ethnic background, there are other threads for that.
Ariana Grande is white, and so is Jessica Cruz. One is culturally hispanic and one is not.
DC's track record with black characters appears unchanged.

So where are the brown race latinos?
There are no such thing as Intermediate types to you and they are white?
Like america chavez, whiter tiger ava, ghost rider robbie, kamala khan etc..
If you believe in that, than i strongly disagree you.
Those latinos above are not white.
Well, I don't think anyone ever thought Jessica was black. I think she's a Mexican American who is sometimes brown and sometimes not.
By the way a latino superhero that was white washwashed was petro in the dceu.
It's strange with that character and how he is drawn in comics.
In comics his younger self looks Mongoloid or native i think but when he says shazam and grown up he looks brown or intermediate looking.
It's like his phenotype changes when he grows up.
For the movie version the young actor looks like he could be near white or white(his grown up version is white).
I guess the young actor is considered white because they got a older actor to play pedro who is white.
Anyway i enjoyed the shazam movie.
It was really good.
Renee Montoya is brown in the comics, gotham, the batman nolan movies and in the cartoons by the way but a black latino in dceu.

Edited-looking at younger version of the pedro art again and more carefully he is brown race.

Brown is not a race. Brown is a color.
The characters above are phenotypically Caucasian and, if real, would likely have high levels of European ancestry according to DNA reports. Some of their complexion might be climate, and some might be distant Amerindian or Black ancestry, but, like most telenovella actors and actresses, they do not have predominantly afro or anerindian features. They are phenotypically White. There are lots of Caucasians around the Mediterranean sea who look like this. These include Italians, Greeks, etc. Many South American countries have significant ancestry linked to Italy, Portugal, and and Spain because that's where most of their colonizing immigrants came from. Lots of Italian surnames in Chile for example. Someone who looks like John Tuturro (sp?) is still Caucasian.
Again, this thread is about John Stewart. DC has a bad track record with characters who look like him.
