Aaron took over 24 issues just to give us a half way decent and confident Thor.
Cates has given us the same, and better, in all of one issue.
There are, IMO, a great many issues with this arc. Cates, IMO, does not handle big stories well. But I am utterly baffled as why how anyone can take issue with his bad ass Thor
Your grumbles about Galactus are the same grumbles Thor fans have about his portrayal in other books. I mean just recently Thor had his ass handed to him by Moonknight who then proceeds to commandeer Mjolnir. Oh and Mjolnir is now made of moon rock. In any case I don’t see where Cates has written Thor as being far above Galactus. Have I missed something?

I think an easy way to look at Thanos stories is that anything written by Jim Starlin, Ron Marz and Keith Giffen is the real Thanos while anything written by other authors should be dismissed as a Thanosi clone.
"Sir, does this mean that Ann Margret's not coming?"

"One of the maddening but beautiful things about comics is that you have to give characters a sense of change without changing them so much that they violate the essence of who they are." ~ Ann Nocenti, Chris Claremont's X-Men.
I thought it was just a case of Aaron thinking he was being funny by 'mooning' Thor and his fanbase.
The other word for nidavellir is myrkheim, which means world of darkness
so he was certainly throwing some shade
