I always remember Synch from his first appearance.

Black man being attacked by the police, but him staying cool and collected. St Louis jersey. Pure swag.

Damn, he did have a way to make being a stand up dude be cool. Part of the reason I think he buried was due to the fact he was positive, intelligent, and very powerful. Now a days everyone has to be broken, tortured and miserable. With no breadcrumbs about him and Darwin, my faith in Hickman on having a plan for him.

Would love to see X-23 and Synch becoming BFFs or more. That ship could be the next epic love triangle and could also turn out to be makings or the next legendary X Men team. I can see it now the original 04 of the new X Men is Synch, X 23, Darwin (not my cup of tea but I'll roll with it) and Serafina.

I was reading New Mutants again and thought how that story could have been reworked into being a Generation X reboot. You could tell a similar story with Gen X tasked to reach Cannonball and Paige being the obvious connection that motivates her to find her brother

Skin could be a Sunspot stand in as the suave comedic character that tries to flirt with Deathbird and narrate the recaps. Mondo could do his same thing as loner, not quite fitting into this group. Functionally, Instead of Magik, we have Blink as a teleporter. Personality wise, M would fit Magik's interactions. The opening scene with Rahne reflecting on being resurrected could be seen through Synch's eyes. Instead of Cypher, Paige could be the smart one in awe of the space stuff and tech. Jubes and Chamber could be a couple and have their own unique thing thats a followup from the ResurrXion era

Also instead of Scott giving the NM's the mission, it could be Banshee (maybe under orders from Scott). And you could bring Emma in the final party issue to interact again with her former students

Glad we'll be getting more of my man Synch but this time I'm going to temper my expectations. That said I am very excited and we better see him putting in work with that aura.

I was wondering when we’d get back to this storyline. I’d like to see Synch interacting more with Gen X (and Darwin interacting with Petra and Sway for that matter). They were sent on this mission before any of that could really happen.

It’s canon they loved each other and we still get nothing. Chuckles Austen is to thank for that and I forever appreciate him for that!
