Not to mention it would limit how much Kate and Alice could interact. That would be a lot of VFX and body doubling going on. The one time they did it for Alice and Beth, it was flawless, but that's asking a lot for every single episode.

Give Alice a mask to wear. This concept is already present. But I suppose you're right, there is a level of demand it creates.

Might work for some dream/images which could be surreal and alarming. The shoe already does a level of that, I can appreciate.

They will for sure have to cast someone that looks a bit like Alice. Rose and Rachel had a similar face, so they pulled of twins well. They even confused my family, who thought Alice was also played by Rose haha.

That's why Rose leaving is a shame. The casting of characters and the chemistry that developed will have to begin again. But that is acting.

Short term, it is possible to use the same actress, mostly because of possible narrative impact, but long term they need someone capable.

This is assuming that Alice will be the villain in season 2. Most the other CW superhero show get a new villain each season. Flash: Reverse Flash, Zoom, Savitar etc. Supergirl: Astra/Maxwell Lord, Camus/Rhea, Reign, Agent Liberty

I think Alice is too central still, to the overall arc for BW and Jacob too. You may be right, but I think they'll more likely add more Batman or type characters. But in major ways this season was about as much as Alice and her world as it was Kate's. I'm not sure they should be done with that.

But they could alter it somewhat. Maybe if Kate has to train Luke and Mary to be Batwing and Flamebird, Alice will be looking at really establishing the whole crime/religion from her old arc in Batwoman; go a little spooky; lycanthropes, or the weeping woman thing
