So what do we think of Saturn Girl being Jon's girlfriend?

Same thing I've felt about almost everything Jon related for the past....how long has he been dead now? Three years?
Now if I were to take my "Everything about this sucks" goggles off for a bit and pretend like Legion is the first time I've ever seen Jon...I'm still not into it. Mostly because of how...vanilla those two feel together. They're not interesting. She's not interesting. This whole scenario just...isn't interesting. Like...it's not the worst thing ever. But I don't really care. It exists apparently and existing is pretty much all it does for me.

Yeah, it's pretty stupid and boring, which pretty much describes everything Bendis has done with the character, soooooooo par for the course.
I do find it kind of weird that Bendis went for this considering the optics though. He racebends Garth, who is traditionally Irma's romantic interest, but then doesn't have them together, when it would have been a chance to put an interracial couple at the center of this book. Instead, we get a white couple front and center. Given Bendis's general interest in portraying diversity, it's just a little surprising he missed that. Of course, this is also the book that has those Dawnstar and Karate Kid designs, so who really knows anymore...

I'll add that I had hoped when Jon grew up he'd be gay.
People object to having an established character come out as gay and say make a new character.
Well, there he is, Jon's sexual orientation is a blank slate, but the most interesting thing they can think to do with him is pair him in a bland relationship with Saturn Girl. Which does also dodge an interracial relationship. Just terrible.
Hang on? Has it been confirmed that jon and saturn girl are a thing?
As far as I know, it hasn't. The closest we have to evidence is that cover where she's getting...very close to him. Course this could just be another case of misleading covers. In fact I'm hoping that's what it is. One of the first things I was afraid would happen when he got aged up was him immediately having an unnecessary love interest thrust on him. And that's pretty much where I saw things going with Saturn Girl the minute those two met.

I would have preferred jon and Dawnstar. She seems to have been waiting for someone. Since, this whole prince jon thing is in effect. It makes far more sense.

I'd prefer him not to be in a relationship and am assuming that cover is misleading.
Bendis's interview in Screen Rant heavily implied it was happening.
